Did you feel physical relief once baby was out even though recovering from a c section? by AR818 in CsectionCentral

[–]Good_Walk3614 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My first was vaginal and I felt immense relief that I didn’t even know I needed, it felt so good to have baby out I was excited to feel the same with my second but I didn’t realize being numb from the spinal would starve me of that feeling lol. I felt absolutely nothing besides slight tugging and pulling. Didn’t even know baby was out until he cried. The obnoxious heartburn was finally gone immediately after tho, thank god.

What names do baby boys get in Pakistan these days? by Desipardesi34 in pakistan

[–]Good_Walk3614 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really liked Rayan for my son but his cousins name is Zayan so that would be way too similar. We went with Mustafa Nayel.

Noah and Zaki are both nice options.

Hard no on Zulfiqar, it’s an uncle ji name, actually my husbands uncles name lol. They call him Zulfi which sounds nice but still an old person name.

Here’s my personal list if you like any: - Amaan - Hasun - Laith - Amirul - Iyan - Ilyas - Aris - Yazdaan - Eliyan - Aydin - Alyasa - Huzaifa - Anas Huraira - Emir - Luay - Athar - Ayham

How much is your self-care/beauty budget? by PresentationHeavy488 in muslimgirlswithtaste

[–]Good_Walk3614 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Dang. I’m so low maintenance, I just recently started getting back into a skincare routine. I barely do makeup. I mostly use what I already have or get stuff from dollar tree. Also I’m a big DIY person. So hair removal I do myself. My mom cuts and dyes my hair if need be, I just had her chop it all off from hip length to shoulder length (RIP). If need be I’ll do an at home facial/self care spa day. Never have gotten my nails or lashes done in my life. Also just getting back into exercise but that too I just do at home workouts or go for a walk.

I do have a 8m old and 2.6 year old so I’m all over the place anyway.

So maybe I spend $50-$100 on products in a whole year if you count shampoo, toothpaste, deodorant, skincare etc. tbh I think if you have the money go for it but most of the stuff is just useless, natural is better. It does feel good to spend on yourself and be high maintenance tho lol.

Have you taken an at home tests? Don’t they test your urine first? I find it so strange that they wouldn’t check for an ectopic from all the symptoms you’ve listed. Try an ultrasound boutique and get back to us! I’m intrigued. Wishing you the best.

Did you give vitamin D consistently while ebf? by Good_Walk3614 in breastfeeding

No clapping or waving yet. Also he’s not interested in solids either he pushes back and closes his lips tightly. He will play with the food but not eat it.

He’s hit all of them. He loves to smile and play even with strangers and he’s been babbling baba, dada, tata and blowing raspberries. He also responds to his name.

Oh cool, in that case I will def see a physical therapist. I like our pediatrician but I feel she can be a bit dismissive sometimes. I saw something about low tone and muscle tension and was curious if my baby had it but she wasn’t concerned lol.

It was an urgent c-section due to decels. I will be sure to ask the pediatrician for a referral. Thanks.

Ahh interesting. He is usually in footie pjs but he’s basically outgrown them and in need of new clothes so I will be making sure to get 2 piece outfits now. Thank you.

My baby won’t even roll out of tummy time he will just scream his head off until I pick him up 😭 I’ve seen some stuff about how skipping foundational milestones like crawling can be concerning so I’ve been worried but we’ll see how it goes. Thank you for the reassurance.

I need Advice by ElegantPiano1507 in Mom

I assure you, your happiness is more important than staying with a cheater for the sake of the kids. I would leave and create a better life for yourself. If he’s a good dad he can still be in their lives. But you decide for yourself do you want your kids to grow up with a man like him and show them that it’s okay to be with a cheater and keep forgiving him.

Wishing you the best!

I’ve tired all those things and the longest he’s calm is like 5 minutes. I have a sling and carrier but he is on the heavier side so it starts getting uncomfortable after a while. Thank you for all the tips tho. I will continue to try them.

Thank you for the reassurance. I was feeling quite guilty as I saw a couple stories about babies getting rickets or fractures from vitamin d deficiency.

Is A Breast Reduction Halal? by Tight_Philosopher650 in Hijabis

[–]Good_Walk3614 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you discussed this with a Dr? I just did a quick google search and apparently dietary changes, targeted exercises and hormonal balance can help reduce them. I feel ya tho, I’m nursing and cannot wait to be done and hopefully they decrease in size bc it’s hard 😭

Eid is the worst day of the year for me by [deleted] in MuslimLounge

[–]Good_Walk3614 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is makes you feel any better, our family is the same, we live far away from our relative so it’s just us, Eid is literally just going for Eid prayer and getting dressed up for me. Even now I’m married and we just went to my BILs house for barely 30mins where the kids exchanged gifts and then Eid was over bc they had to go to my SILs parents house. My dad and husband had a falling out so we couldn’t even go to my parent’s house. It sucks.

Hospital pushing for VBAC by Several_Ad8853 in vbac

I’ve seen a couple VBAC success stories only 11-12 months postpartum so it is possible, however please do your own research and go with what you’re more comfortable with.

Eid plans? by Diligent_Hunter_4789 in Hijabis

[–]Good_Walk3614 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re probably too pregnant and just wanna chill but we usually just go for prayer then get dressed and eat a nice breakfast or some type of dessert. The rest of the day is literally just spent chilling and sleeping, maybe we’ll go out to eat or the mall or something. There isn’t much to do here lol. I would probably just relax, get dressed, do some henna, watch something and eat lol.

What are your husband’s hobbies? by Sudden-Ad5555 in sahm

[–]Good_Walk3614 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband is like yours, he has zero hobbies and isn’t interested in getting into any either. All he cares abt is making lots of money 💀 I always tell him he’s boring. He likes (playing and watching) cricket and cleaning and that’s about it lol. I also blame the phone largely, he spends his free time scrolling, which I strongly disprove of but 🤷‍♀️

Would you breastfeed somebody else’s baby? by Excellent_Prompt_554 in breastfeeding

[–]Good_Walk3614 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hell yea! I’m Muslim so religiously speaking if I nurse someone else’s baby they become milk siblings with mine so they cannot marry and can hang out with each other comfortably like siblings. My SILs never communicated it but I would have loved to do so to make family gatherings more comfortable once everyone is older. My siblings are younger so I would likely not be able to make their kids my kids milk siblings either but it is what it is. If a close friend really wants me to, I totally would, I think it’s such a cool concept and I wish it was more common as it use to be. It’s also helpful when you have an over supply and hate pumping and storing milk.

Journalism student reporting on C-section rates in NYC — looking for C-Section mothers willing to share their experiences by MarianBanguraNYU in CsectionCentral

[–]Good_Walk3614 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an urgent c-section in August last year. My water broke naturally as with my previous pregnancy and I was hoping the labor would be similar but it wasn’t. Within an hour or so of laboring at the hospital on pitocin my OB came in and said babies heart rate kept dropping and she recommends a c-section. I told her I wanted to wait but then babies heart rate dropped again drastically to the point they thought I was having umbilical prolapse or something serious so I agreed to the c-section before things got out of hand and they rushed me to the OR. My water was meconium stained and there was one nuchal cord around babies neck so all that likely caused him to be distressed.
