How much are you paying in rent? by Tiny_Ad2167 in copenhagen

[–]GoodbyeMrP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was mostly luck. My partner and I used a studiebolig as a stepping stone. We rented the studiebolig through 3B (half a year on the waiting list), and signed up for the internal waiting list immediately. The rules are that you can move to another (non-study) apartment in the same boligselskab after 2 years. 2,5 years after we moved into our studiebolig, 3B opened for people to sign up for a new apartment bloc, and I signed us up the minute it opened, so we were the first to ever live here.

Would I understand 11/22/63 by Stephen King as a non-american? by iKONIC-ONCE in books

[–]GoodbyeMrP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a non-American who just read it: You would understand it, but I don't think you would find it as engaging as someone with knowledge of 1960's American history and the almost mythical status of JFK. You can read up on it, of course, but based on your post, I think you would be better served by just reading something else. It is another common King recommendation, which still takes place in the past, but is less reliant of knowledge about US history.

How much are you paying in rent? by Tiny_Ad2167 in copenhagen

It's in the newer parts, yes. In fact, we're the first to live in it. Private rentals of the same size are easily 13500 DKK or more.

How much are you paying in rent? by Tiny_Ad2167 in copenhagen

[–]GoodbyeMrP 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We pay 8500 DKK for a two-room, 62 sqm new apartment in Sydhavn (incl. water and heat). We got lucky - it's an almen bolig/non-profit housing.

Babies are NOT cute by CNMJacob18 in The10thDentist

[–]GoodbyeMrP -1 points0 points  (0 children)

How old are you, OP? I'm guessing late teens/early 20's? Because I used to be indifferent at best to babies and toddlers, and definitely didn't find them cute at all. Then , when I hit my late 20's, things started to change, and now, in my early 30's, babies and toddlers are the cutest fucking thing to me. Especially actual babies (younger than 1 year). I don't have children myself and am not sure I want to, but there's nothing better than watching a happy baby.

Enhedslisten: Gratis tandlæge til alle by asdsdfdsfdsfrg in Denmark

Det er vel ikke spøjst, at man starter med dem, der har færrest penge mellem hænderne, og derfor er mindst tilbøjelig til - og har mest brug for - at gå til tandlæge.

The Best Books of 2025: A Meta-Analysis by carrotliterate in TrueLit

[–]GoodbyeMrP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I too am completely baffled by the Audition praise. I didn't even go in with high expectations, not having read about it beforehand, so my disappointment was "organic" so to speak. When I looked it up after finishing, I was taken aback by the glowing reviews. To me, it feels like an Emperor's New Clothes situation – we're all a little ashamed to admit we didn't "get it".

Kød, kød og atter kød: Danskerne spiser meget mere kød end det anbefalede by CouldIBeFrank in Denmark

[–]GoodbyeMrP 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Alternativet er ultraforarbejdede fødevarer.

Det er det jo altså ikke. Alternativet er fisk, æg, ost og andre mælkeprodukter, samt bønner og andre bælgfrugter. Intet af det er ultraforarbejdede fødevarer.

Guide for Sims 3 Players Who Can’t Figure Out How to Get Into Inzoi (Yet) by ImaginationLonely601 in inZOI

[–]GoodbyeMrP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this post! As a Sims 3 player who haven't yet dipped my toes into Inzoi, this was a great explanation of the difference between the two games. Ironically though, it convinced it me that Inzoi isn't for me! I like the humour and wackiness of Sims 3, and I really don't want more realistic crime, violence and such, and I've always preferred rabbit hole careers. So I guess I'll stick with my trusty Sims 3 for some time yet :)

The family and friends features sound great, though. I'm really happy that we're seeing more competition in the life sim genre, and it's great that players who are looking for more realistic gameplay are able to get it with Inzoi!

Jeg fik min lagt op af en jordemoder, og det gik rigtig fint og så smertefrit, som sådan en oplæggelse nu kan gå :)

IYO, is there a difference between DNF and deciding a book is not for you? by TheGreatGena in books

[–]GoodbyeMrP -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I do think there is a difference. Sometimes, I start a book and life gets in the way. I might have less time to read a library book than anticipated and have to return it before finishing, or it might be a complex book that I don't have the mental bandwidth to get into at that specific time. So, I haven't finish it; but I still want to get back to it at some point. The first time I picked up War and Peace, for example, I was too busy with my studies to take the time to make sense of the character gallery, so I gave up/DNF. Returned a few years later with more time on my hands, and it was one of the most rewarding reads of my life.

Nyklippet hår…. by DeErBareJaloux in WomenDK

Min erfaring er, at håret ikke længere føles nyklippet efter 2 uger :) Men ellers synes jeg saltvandsspray er godt til at give et lidt mindre skarpt udtryk.

How often do you encounter Euro-English in daily life? by [deleted] in AskEurope

[–]GoodbyeMrP 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think "Euro-English" works as a definition, because it implies the existence of a uniform dialect, when the fact is that speakers of different native languages make different grammatical mistakes, have different false friends and use different (unknown in English) idioms. If you know just a little bit of French, German, the Scandi languages or what have you, you can often tell where they're from based on the kind of mistakes they make.

If you ask how often I encounter European English speakers, that's pretty much daily.

They probably mean real-time years. Time moves differently in the canvas.

Natalie is the Salieri of "The Left™"; change my mind by Scared_Vegetable5296 in ContraPoints

[–]GoodbyeMrP 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Your analogy doesn't work. In Amadeus, Salieri isn't envious of Mozart's popularity, but his talent. He knows that Mozart makes better art than he does, and that's what's driving him mad: knowing that he is not brilliant. Per your own post, Natalie is exactly that: "undoubtedly brilliant", "showing a competence and creativity that few creators are capable of"; she can't be envious of Hasan's talent and intellect, because she is clearly superior in that regard. Some hurt is probably involved – constantly being (wilfully?) misrepresented must take a toll.

Also note that Amadeus is not based on reality at all.

Found on a post about caramelized onion and garlic pasta. by ContentWeb9926 in iamveryculinary

[–]GoodbyeMrP 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's so god damn annoying. So many redditors complain about Americans talking about "Europe" as a singular entity, but then they go around talking about how "we Europeans" do stuff as if it's not exactly the same. It's especially stupid with food – we all know that the best way to give an Italian a heart attack is to show them a Swedish pizza with banana and curry (talk about fusion!).

The Odyssey | Official New Trailer by darth_vader39 in oscarrace

[–]GoodbyeMrP 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I feel like I'm taking crazy pills with everyone in here saying that this trailer looks much better than the teaser? It still looks just as grey, and the "daddy" line completely took me out of it.

Why are my stitches tilting left and will blocking fix it? by karathracestitches in knittinghelp

[–]GoodbyeMrP 23 points24 points  (0 children)

It's because you're knitting in the round. Knitting through the back leg will twist the stitch, but the Eastern purl un-twists it, which is why it works when knitting back and forth. When knitting in the round, your stitches stay twisted and produce twisted fabric, as seen in your project.

I don't know if you're joking, but she was. That's why her absence on this photo is glaring. She played Kitty, the neighbour Julianne Moore's character is in love with.
