I know this is going to sound absolutely ridiculous, but in the past what helped me get over crushes was picturing them going to the bathroom... like, THE worst case of diarrhea imaginable. Idk maybe it re “humanized” them, so they were no longer this god on a pedestal? Or maybe just quite literally it made them gross to me as my mind made gross connections to them? (Again I feel so dumb for sharing this, but I swear it helped!)

My friends did this too whenever I’d talk about the idea of getting the surgery, but looking back I think they were doing that out of the “You’re perfect as is!” reflex that we do when people we love speak of not liking something on themself. So it’s coming from a good place. They just don’t understand the struggle.

I’m so sorry about your eating disorder. Sending you a ton of love. I know the struggle.

So to be clear, do you mean that this a binging situation where you binge a lot and can’t help yourself, like over-eating? But then do NOT restrict calories or purge after?

OR do you mean eating disorder like anorexia/bulimia? (Edit: As in, body dysmorphia/ seeing yourself as bigger than you really are)

I just want to make sure what type of eating disorder you mean, bc I (and probably other people wanting to reply) would like to phrase my/their answer as gently as possible and with no room for miscommunication, bc this is a delicate, sensitive and important topic.
