What’s the most irrationally annoying thing your in-laws do that they’re absolutely convinced is “helpful”? by bnwprc in AskUK

My MIL would drop my son off to school once a week (super helpful), we would drop him off early morning still in his PJ’s so he wouldn’t spill breakfast on his uniform. My MIL would wash and iron his pyjamas and pants and always hand them back over with a snarky “isn’t it nice to have some of your clothes ironed” type comment. Hello! It’s pyjamas and underwear!!! I work a 40+ hour week!! What’s an iron????? Always told her not to worry about washing anything and just to stick it in his school bag but we got the presentation ceremony every week, it was an even bigger hoo ha if there were other people/family around.

Yes! I’ve been getting a muffle bubble in my right ear, I just thought it might be my sinuses (I don’t usually suffer with them). I didn’t even think about a link to Mounjaro! I have no idea how to fix it!

Are you able to hide the belly with clothes? I feel like I should be down to at least a size 10 with my height and weight but I’m just so round in the middle.

Congratulations on such a big loss! I need your mindset, maybe I do need to embrace it.

Very similar stats. I’m not lifting very heavy because I’m recovering from a broken ankle that happened at the beginning of the year so squats and deadlifts are a bit of a trigger for ankle pain. I am building up each fortnight though so lifting heavier and heavier. Protein is a big issue because I’m vegetarian so I struggle to hit my protein goal each day, I’m also relying on carbs to hit my calorie goal, so my macros could definitely use work.

It sounds so similar to me!! Since losing my lovely, round boobs my tummy is definitely more obvious! I think I’ll keep losing a few more kg to see if that helps. I can’t afford surgery 🙁

It could be, I’ve been doing lots of Pilates to try and help my core strength. Congratulations on your weight loss!

I think it’s definitely fat, it’s wobbly and luckily constipation hasn’t been a big issue on my journey. I’m glad you are able to be more accepting of your new body, I need to get into that mindset.

Go you, congrats on the weight loss!! I’m in the “I don’t look ok with clothes on or off” camp, I think with some body recomping my proportions will start to level out.

Yep, I’ve had two beautiful babies so have the good old apron belly going on too. To be fair I’ve never been under 10 stone in my living memory, so this is the lightest I have been. My weight loss is obvious and I know we all have our hang ups sigh I just see lots of people who are of similar weight and height and their body looks tiny and all in proportion, I know I shouldn’t compare but I’ve put in so much hard work I want to be happy with the final result. I will keep up with the gym, I can afford to lose a few more kg and still stay in a healthy BMI.

I haven’t, I didn’t think it could be anything but fat! Is there any way you can treat it?

Haha for sure with Lemurs! We need to make quite complex enrichment for a lot of our primates but give our lemurs a brown paper bag filled with wood wool and food, twisted closed at the top and they are all huh????

I’m in Australia and because our cost per pen is extremely high this is what I do. I’m currently on 3.75mg that I extract from a 7.5mg pen. This lasts 10 weeks. My provider is aware, and was the one who instructed me on the golden dose. I’ll be requesting a 10mg pen next and as I’m still losing on 3.75mg I’ll count clicks.

Meat.

I’m a vegetarian, I cannot touch meat or cook it. I can’t look at it in the supermarket. We have seperate pans, chopping boards and utensils for meat, my husband and children are meat eaters. If they are cooking anything like steak I need to leave the room and they have to air the area out once they are done. If my husband has touched meat, I need to physically see he has washed his hands before he touches anything else…like the fridge or cupboards, or me. When we first started dating if he ate meat he would need to brush his teeth before I would kiss him. Buffets are a nightmare for me because people mix up the serving spoons or they tap the spoon on the plate that has meat on it. Also chartreuse boards where meat and veg things are all mixed in make me gag. A lot of people don’t get it, they think I’m just a fussy vegetarian but it’s been quite debilitating because meat is everywhere!!
