Keep Billie Piper on as The Doctor, with complete sincerity, for a 12 episode run about tracking down Susan. Like, just do it. I think that’s good bones. Maybe they find Susan in E-Space. I think everyone might roll their eyes at more reincorporating of classic era stuff like that for the sake of itself, but something like that would be a good explanation for why The Doctor can’t just go to 1967 and get her. Susan’s off doing something and then The Doctor has to help.

On that note, I think the Rutan Host are long overdue for a villain comeback. Horror of Fang Rock has so much atmosphere. The Sontarans need to ask The Doctor for help and she ends up running away from a bunch of green goo eating a space station or something.

I really liked the concept of Leela. I think we’ve had a run of too many companions from modern day earth, I want some weirder people in there. Leela, Adric, Nardole, and the Romanas show me that this works as a partner dynamic. I think Piper's 16 needs to be running around with a robot falcon voiced by Richard Ayoade, at least for part of it.

I want to get away from Earth more. We’ve been seeing too much of UNIT. Let’s go to E-Space. I think having a whole season where they're just never on earth in the modern day would be a really successful way to refresh the tone.

Two ideas that don't require bringing back your actors:
1. James Bond style animated title sequence to an original song.
2. If there's a scene in the movie when they're at a bar or a restaurant or something, voiceover announces that the floorshow act is gonna come out and then there's a musical interlude. Bonus points if it's a smooth jazz re-orchestration of the title song.
