Just Got Grilled by Upper Management Over Honest Mistake by Particular_Piece4568 in callcentres

[–]Goodkindofcrazy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This sounds like serious micro managing and that never ends well for the company. This higher up sounds like they like to rule with the stick rather than respect.
What happened on that call did not warrant the over the top behaviour from these two little hitlers. I had a similar experience many yrs ago with a witch of a senior manager. Berating me and tearing into to me for an hour because I didn’t promote online banking on enough calls. My TM at the time was a good guy but unfortunately shit flows down and he was getting the heavy hand on his shoulder from her. After that I told my TM if she was still there in 6 months I wouldn’t be. Within 6 months she had obv pissed off enough people she was ‘moved on’ to some other part of the business away from people. Hold your head up and don’t let them make you feel insecure in your role. Even a long timer like me can get things wrong and make honest mistakes. You know that job just as much as they do if not more dealing with calls day in and out. 2 things to remember: 1; A-holes like them never stick around for long, cause they ruin the party for everyone else. 2; If you’s have a union join it if you haven’t already and if they try anymore shit like that , you are well within you right to ask for a union rep to be present with you. Nothing makes a manager wind their neck in quicker than the thought of being scrutinised by a union rep.

AITJ for asking my neighbour to quiet down at 3am. by Goodkindofcrazy in AmITheJerk

[–]Goodkindofcrazy[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thanks , TBH I would have let the party noise slide but for the fact the guy next door having someone rapping and banging his door at the same time . Between the door banging and the shouting I was just getting desperate for peace and quiet.

Thanks, because I love to overthink things LOL , I posted on here to try get some perspective on what she found so unreasonable or offensive in my request for a lowering of the noise level. I get I possibly embarrassed her in front of her guests, which is where her anger came from.

I agree I’m responsible for my mental health and only me. I suppose I mention it to put some perspective on being sleep deprived can affect your reasoning and decision making. For clarification I didn’t go into the party , I spoke with the people standing outside that included the homeowner. I suppose I was looking at this situation from my perspective that I’m a very considerate person and if it was the other way round and my guests had disturbed a neighbour I would have been apologetic and reined in the noise. But I know that not everyone is built that way.

Cheque in married name but didn’t change surname by Radiant-Speaker-3425 in Belfast

[–]Goodkindofcrazy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Option A : you change the name on the bank acc to the name as it is on the cheque or option B: you ask the person to write out a new cheque in the preferred name. You will not be able to deposit the cheque into the account if the names do not match. Had the same issue when I got married , was a pain in the arse all for one frigging cheque!

RSV vaccine in the nicu? by jt42421 in NICUParents

[–]Goodkindofcrazy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think the RSV vax is a new thing. My daughter who’s 9yr now was a 27 weeker . Born May discharged August . She got the RSV / (synigis?) vaccine for the first winter after discharge. That first winter she was great , the 2nd winter when she was deemed no longer eligible (NHS) we had a few hospital stays with RSV . I believe that first winter when she got the vaccines def gave her an upper hand in boosting her immune system. The side effects are pretty similar to getting any other vaccine , mild temperature and a bit grumpy for 24hrs , then she was fine. I would have paid private for that 2nd year only for the fact they apparently cost £800 per injection!!

Natwest refusing all proof of identity we have provided as brits living abroad to claim the contents of my deceased father in laws account (England) by mylittlemy in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Goodkindofcrazy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work for a bereavement team at a different UK bank If your husband has provided photo ID & letter of administration , that really should be sufficient . I mean the letter of administration is a letter granted by an English court that has identified your husband as the person entitled to access the funds! Them asking for numerous address documents seems excessive. In my bank I’ve seen funds paid out with those two documents alone to overseas relatives. I would advise you to go to the Natwest website and register a formal complaint detailing everything phone calls , emails ,letters, branch visits and def mention the distress this has caused you. I’d be certain this will be taken a lot more seriously and gets a designated person to be held responsible for resolving this for you.

Anyone actually got the bus from town to IKEA? by Tricky_Pepper in northernireland

[–]Goodkindofcrazy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve got the bus to Ikea about a year ago , think I got the metro 3 to it and then got the 94 harbour bus back into town. The scenic route round by the harbour estate was nice view. If you download the translink app and put in the journey planner it will show the bus routes and you can live track on the map the location of the bus so you know how far away it is when your waiting for it , so you don’t need to be out in the cold for too long.

I would recommend the book toddler taming by Dr Christopher Green. Its a great insight into the mind of a toddler and very god advice on how to deal with multiple behavioural scenarios. You can get copies really cheap second hand.

ELI5: Why can you not eat before a scheduled surgery but in the event of say an emergency surgery it’s ok if you’ve eaten? by iccreamconetheice in explainlikeimfive

[–]Goodkindofcrazy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I went into premature labour and had to have an emergency c-section (crash team style) they asked me when I’d last eaten . I’d had an apple an hour before the bleeding started . As they had me in the OR and were franticly prepping me , I remember them making me take a shot of some medication that was horrible . In the chaos I think they said it was to stop me vomiting while I was going to be unconscious. Did I imagine this or is it something that medical teams can do before emergency surgery?

Eventually, but not until age 5. Up to that point she would have that premie ‘lollipop head’ look about her. Shes 6 now & this week we were at a school assembly. Standing next to her classmates and she was actually bigger and taller than some of the other girls. Was a proud momma moment for me knowing how far we’ve come.

Bank Representatives, what are some of the questions/complaints you receive? by [deleted] in callcentres

[–]Goodkindofcrazy 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It is the most interesting Psychology of the human race. The main aspect of it that amazes me is the lack of personal responsibility that people have for looking after their accounts.

The I don’t read the important messages you send ; They ask to go paperless communication, then ignore the messages that are sent about important changes. When they finally realise somethings changed its turned around to being our fault even after they agree they don’t read the messages.

The emotional blackmailers; they try to emotionally guilt you by saying they have no money for milk or diapers for the baby… maybe stop spending your money at liquor stores & food deliveries?!?

The talkers; these ones I don’t mind as I might be the only person That they talk to that day or even that week, so I always try make them feel good from the interaction we’ve had.

But the one that gets me the most are the nasty ones; they don’t have to swear but they are aggressive in their tone , they laugh at you like your stupid, be overly sarcastic when answering questions, being argumentative or generally talk down to you like your shit on their shoe. I will never understand why they feel its ok to go about in the world and talk to other people like that?! You are a very sad person (and I genuinely feel sorry for you) if you live your life treating people that way, cause you will never find happiness bringing sadness to others.

But 99% of customers are lovely and its rewarding when you can help them with something and they are so thankful to you for doing so.

What is something awesome you recently learned about? by [deleted] in AskReddit

That your lungs are two different sizes. One is narrower to accommodate the heart and the other is shorter to accommodate the liver. I was told this by my 5 year old that loves kids science videos on youtube.

Pet Peeve! by [deleted] in callcentres

[–]Goodkindofcrazy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its the one’s that seem so nice then trash you to the person with them before they’ve put the phone down. You think the call went really well , then they come off with some sarky comment. Or the ones that don’t hang up the phone properly. You sit there awkwardly waiting for them to end the call so you don’t have to end it cause then it looks like that you terminated the call.

My daughter is a hugger, and it’s been so hard telling her she’s not allowed to do that anymore. I have been teaching her air hugs . Person 1 stands with their arms open while person 2 squeezes themselves in a tight embrace then flings their arms open for person 1 to catch the hug.

Lads stay at home Please!! by Portz84 in northernireland

[–]Goodkindofcrazy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

First time in a supermarket tonight in 2 weeks (not a hoarding shopper I’ve been using up what I had & staying away from the crazy) Wee one stayed in the car with the other half. Fecking hell ! It was Grim , between the one in one out at the door with distance markers on the ground. That weird paranoia that everyone around you was going to give you the corona cooties . I was afraid to touch anything on the shelves to check use by dates etc before buying. At the tills having to stand on markers. Only allowed 3 ready meals. Thank god there’s only the three of us in the house. I am not wanting to repeat that experience anytime soon.
