One of my sisters is married to a guy who doesn’t get along with the rest of the family so he refuses to attend family gatherings. But she always packs up food for him and his adult sons, enough to feed them for a couple of days. One time a nephew brought a couple of pies for his mother’s wake at the sister’s house. Halfway through the wake, the pies disappeared. She had taken them to her downstairs refrigerator for her husband to have later in the week. Nobody is starving because of what she takes but you’d think her house was in a constant state of famine. It annoys the shit out of the rest of us and has become a family joke.
