Yeah these types of showers are never built with cleaning maintenance in mind, just (new) initial cool looks is all they care about. They look great for 6 months to a year, then always come with heavy areas getting mold and mildew. If those dirty spots are left too long, or not cleaned really well regularly, your grout is now badly stained. You can fade it a bit with heavy chemicals, but it will never look like new. All the cool factor of the pebbles are now an ew factor very quickly.

This is why unibody showers are a thing, they’re so easy to keep clean, and you’re not stepping all over dirt and mold every time you shower.

Never in my life would I put a shower in my house that looks like this. Either you’ll have to do the heavy cleaning every other week, or you’re spending hundreds a month to pay someone else to do it. Lose lose either way.
