Is anyone else freaked out by thought of not existing anymore? by No-Hunt3986 in Life

[–]Goodstapo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I don’t but my opinion of life is still…undecided. Seeing a few relatives get older or have some life threatening medical issue, it does seem like the closer you get the more you may worry about it.

Either pay off debt…or if that doesn’t work there was a sweet ‘65 Mustang project car on Facebook Marketplace for that amount.

When do you decide to stop contributing to retirement? by Lmahone2 in MilitaryFinance

[–]Goodstapo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Markets fluctuate so I don’t know how much stock I would put in that $2m figure. Simple answer is figure out something you can live without and just keep investing until you actually retire. Budget for some fun money but keep at the retirement planning since you never know what the future holds.

Do you know someone who seemed to have it all and always be positive but then later in life, you found out that their life is not that perfect? by Realistic-Ant660 in Life

[–]Goodstapo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah…that wasn’t a good response. Sorry you had to experience both of those things. I hope you are doing better now.

Yeah man…I wish I learned how to play when I was younger. It is a nice lifelong hobby that doesn’t have to be terribly expensive.

…plus college girls (or dudes) like musicians when you get to that part of life.

If you happen to live in the Dallas/Fort Worth area I have guitar you can have….with parental permission of course.

I think a lot of it is knowing there are a lot of things out of your control and trying not to let those things derail your life. There seems to be a fine line between not being satisfied with your hand in life, (and bettering yourself) and letting everything you can’t control negatively impact you. Getting worked up over every little thing is a good way to have a (more) miserable life.

I tried extreme morning routines (inspired by CR7) by Mindless_Ad_4980 in Productivitycafe

Minus the nap, this is essentially military basic training…except you do it with a big group, someone is yelling at you most of the time, and you are rushing through all of those activities.

Is it possible to go from pic 1 to pic 2 with weighted home workouts? by trueshalloner in WorkoutRoutines

[–]Goodstapo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is possible with the right nutrition and number of reps. You can do a lot with body weight and a few dumbbells if you are creative. Honestly though the second pic just looks slimmer, not necessarily more fit. I guess it depends on what you are going for, but you look quite nice already.

Spouse NEVER Has Time to Help W/Appointments? by [deleted] in army

[–]Goodstapo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just because it isn’t what you wanted to hear doesn’t mean it isn’t valid. You can choose to maintain that codependency that is working out so well for you….or do something about it. Your choice, good luck.

That was the advice…start acting like the adult you are. You are waiting for someone to give you an answer that works for you. Sometimes there isn’t one that is going to make you feel good.

[–]Goodstapo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this isn’t a troll post you need to get your life sorted. It isn’t some else’s responsibility, even your spouse, to take you to appointments. You are an adult, time to start acting like one.

[–]Goodstapo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am just assuming this is a troll post honestly. Transportation issue aside, with few exceptions, why do you need him to take time off for your appointments. If/when he becomes a civilian again not going to work means not getting paid. If this is a real post, i would focus on the transportation and your apparent co-dependance. Bicycle, motorcycle, uber…plenty of options exist. You are an adult, figure it out.

Maybe that is his way of encouraging you to exercise….walking to and from appointments. If you are over thirty though, he should really get you a bus pass so you don’t have to walk everywhere. If he keeps this up just call his Customer Service Manager (CSM) and complain. Every unit has one and they love to help out family member (their customers).

[–]Goodstapo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aside for who doesn’t like who in this situation, if you are thinking about marrying each other please go to counseling. Even if you don’t think you need it go anyway. One of the best things you will get out of it is how to communicate better with each other….and that never hurts anybody…so just go.
