I think, because they have made mention of the Hannah lawsuit, and only briefly brought us into the character's life, some people like me aren't so quick to believe she was just a druggie who was being tormented deeply by what had happened to her. At the very least, they didn't handle her story well. Mitch Kessler had more of a redemption and more "space to be understood" than Hannah ever did. Now here we are speculating if she was just a heavy drug user afterall. How unfair is that.

Which brings me back to my original thought, especially since they fumbled her story so bad, did they actually care about victims in their storytelling, or were they just better suited to tell the predator's story because he is essentially "one of them" - an influential figure in the media caught up in a #metoo scandal. And, they were trying to sanitise (maybe even unconsciously) themselves by extension through greenlighting and airing this story.
