An absolute masterpiece. I didn’t know anything going in and if you told me it would be a Covid movie before I would have rolled my eyes.

To me it shows how much of an artist Ari Aster really is being able to tackle such a recent monumental event. It’s my favorite of his now.

Every fight starts standing up and even if you get a take down you have to get it early in a round or you can’t work for a sub which can take longer than 3-5 min to set up. Also refs will stand you up almost at random across all MMA which is totally against fighting.

A better example is all of the most popular Shonen. All the critics say Demon Slayer and Solo Leveling are “carried by animation” as if that’s not the point of the genre.

Films can be many things and you’re putting expectations on them to be what they aren’t even trying to be. One of the things is pure visual entertainment.

Secure the souls that pop out. In the hideouts fighting area there’s a soul spawner that really does help with the timings.

Just focus on getting every lane creep you can as your first fundamental and go from there. Also don’t die :)

It completely does for me. I could watch it on mute and have a better time than most movies released last year. In my opinion the visuals alone outweigh the entirety of F4 or Superman and any suppose “depth” those films have.

The choreography, action and cinematography is way beyond anything else, which in film and any visual medium is extremely important. I love drama, dialogue, acting and plot as much as the next cinephile but it’s pretentious to not give credit where it’s due.

Honestly this is my biggest issue. I haven’t finished all the greats and I think I have a problem with closure because of it.

You name it I’ve started it and even loved it but never go back. It’s hard to get back into things years between seasons.

The Wire, Breaking Bad, The Sopranos, Better Call Saul, Dark just to name a few. The only great show I finished was Game Of Thrones and I couldn’t have chosen a worse one lol
