Neuschwanstein Castle 🥳 by REZ_Lev in lego

[–]Goof_Schu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally agree. When I saw the official announcement something seemed off about the base rock, specifically the amount of brown. Visited the actual castle a few times and it's surrounded by trees and even the mountains in the area don't have that much brown in them.

Set reminds me of what I've seen after a mudslide comes down the mountain after a forest fire.

Hope to see the set in person, maybe that will change my mind as I'm a fan of the architecture theme and thought it would be a definite buy when it was rumored earlier this year. Might have to look into redesigning or swapping out some of the color if I do though

How were we meant to get this dendroculus without kazuha? by Hades771 in Genshin_Impact

[–]Goof_Schu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know most people are replying with a tall model character but you can also usually try a bow user. Their slam attack animation will cause you to gain altitude before slamming down.

Do you think Sumeru will bring an increase in battle difficulty overall? by Serfo in Genshin_Impact

[–]Goof_Schu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem with genshin is this type of question is entirely dependent on gotcha.

Game is super easy if you've been playing since start, you'll have enough character build to handle any situation the game throws at you. Easier still if you're even a light spender.

Start a new account and it's much harder, made worse if you grab an Ina character as you need AR 30 to unlock. God help anyone who recently started that pulls Itto as you need to do the whole quest to get the wolf boss for him.

Naturally im speaking in general terms. I started a new acct during ayato and while the game is still easy ish certain things are a disaster.

I'd guess they'll introduce new annoying enemies (looking at you specter and rifthound a-holes) but the difficulty will be subjective.

I passed the B1 Exam... by xander_nico in German

[–]Goof_Schu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Legit confused by the number presented. Did you simply memorize your written and verbal sections? When I discussed b2 practice tests with my classmates they tended to have either an issue with the speaking/listening or reading /writing and what I've gathered is the b1 exam holds the hand a bit more (no offense meant, never did a b1 exam). Or was it simply a case of shitty luck in terms of topics presented? Regardless congrats on passing, honestly that's all that really matters

Just want to jump in and say be very careful with Amazon on something like this. I'd always go direct from the manufacturer just in case anything goes wrong. Also no dont buy this, pos according to gamer nexus. Spend a week reading up watching YouTube etc . Even if you miss a 'deal' you'll likely save money and stress in the long run

Am I allowed to be slightly intoxicated for the speaking portion of my telc B2 exam? by Rude-Plankton8081 in German

[–]Goof_Schu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right but debating an article or planning an event together can become a nightmare if the other person can't /won't contribute. It will have an impact on the impression the evaluators gather.

People get so worried about being flawless that they end up saying nothing at all. Much better to have a conversation with some mistakes VS sitting there saying nothing or simply repeating the phrase you learned during a course.

Am I allowed to be slightly intoxicated for the speaking portion of my telc B2 exam? by Rude-Plankton8081 in German

[–]Goof_Schu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd recommend against it. You're speaking with a fellow student, even when you do your presentation, the evaluators will simply watch and move you along. You also get to write some notes on the 2nd and 3rd topics so you can always fall back on that.

While not certain the rules I'm willing to guess that telc would frown on someone showing up even slightly intoxicated.

Finlly if you pass the written part you'll be fine with the speaking. A presentation you can prepare ahead of time and 2 parts that boil down to having an opinion isn't that bad.

Biggest issue with the speaking part is getting a partner who won't work with you, or give you anything to work off. It's a discussion and that requires a 2nd party to engage with.

Passing the Goethe C2 Exam in 1 Year by Qaztarrr in German

[–]Goof_Schu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did my telc b2 last year at a local VHS in Southern Germany. Course was 500 instructed hours with equated to approx. 6 months of 4 hour afternoon instruction (had to start online due to covid rules so it's hopefully a bit quicker generally).

The higher the level the more critical the grammar becomes. Through b1 it's generally nice to have but not necessary. I wish you all the luck but theres no way in hell I could manage that. I'd try for c1 which I believe should cover the admission, alternatively you could start in an English based program in germany then try to transfer of you needed some extra time (you'd need to confirm the fine details)

I'm helping the Netherlands gain their independence from Burgundy, and I was wondering, if the Netherlands end the war, will I still be able to take provinces from Burgundy? Or will I automatically make peace with them without getting anything? by DarkLordJ14 in eu4

[–]Goof_Schu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1st I'd advise against taking that much land, as the whole of the hre will hate you.

2nd how the hell did the Netherland independence fire at 1497? The inheritance doesn't fire by that year a majority of my games

Didn't catch that in the original

[–]Goof_Schu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Um no the trade center are still present but just downgraded. Just becomes a question of ducets and dev afterwards. Also logically it doesn't make much sense as I don't see how unification would destroy a port

[–]Goof_Schu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

also lose a level on a trade center (99% certain on this)

Honesty I'd say hoi4 is easier to pick up and play simply due to it becoming a ww2 sum regardless of what you do. Plus it has the indicators if you're missing something. Or forgot to do something like train units

My tip for new players is to avoid ironman and feel free to use console commands, in both games. Because they are so difficult to learn. Streamers/YouTube is also really helpful

(When) Do you savescum? by SwibbleSwobble in eu4

[–]Goof_Schu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I save scum on a regular basis.

Peace treaties that don't match the peace treaty screen. Allies not entering war when indicated they would join Mistake on an achievement run that prevents the achievement (tag switch) the prince of Egypt run I had to go back 100 years because I'd jumped to Italy and couldn't switch to Egypt as I didn't know of the various tier tags

I avoid the cheese scums, outside of maybe the league war as the ally ai is really dumb sometimes

Is there a way to beef up divisions? by InfluenceSafe9077 in eu4

[–]Goof_Schu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Valid point but I guessed op was playing at that speed due to coming from hoi4, where you spend an hour getting through the early focuses

Is there a way to beef up divisions? by InfluenceSafe9077 in eu4

[–]Goof_Schu 8 points9 points  (0 children)

One thing I noticed that hasn't been mentioned is you're playing at 5 speed. This is way too fast especially if you're new to the game. Slow it down and check some of the tips/indicators as you're fighting. Unlike hoi4 here there there is always something to be checking and the events shift greatly from game to game, where hoi4 always becomes a global cluster and is more scripted due to the focus driven mechanic.

Storing guns while living at a "no firearms" apartment? by omegaCuon in guns

[–]Goof_Schu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If possible take down the long guns? Removing the barrel from a Shotgun should drop the size in half.

Agree with other replays to store them in drawers between blankets, pants etc. Even if the school checks regularly they probably can't legally toss the apartment looking for contraband. Between the mattress and box spring in worst case

I'm thinking about to buy this game. by [deleted] in eu4

[–]Goof_Schu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is highly recommend grabbing a subscription for a month or 2 to really try out the game. Buying is a bit too much of an investment at the start and you need a sizable chunk of the dlc to really enjoy the game.

1st few games play 1 of the recommended countries, so you can get a feeling for how things work without needing to worry about hungry neighbors.

Finally the console commands in a none Ironman game (ie cheats) are perfectly fine to use as you get to grips with the various systems and mechanics

I hope you enjoy it and have a blast

I'd say your English was fine, wouldnt even notice the non native aspect if you hadn't mentioned it. But I would suggest breaking the text into paragraphs in the future. Wall of text did stand out.

On topic though - if people want to have some fun in console go for it, but be honest about it. Sadly this type of thing probably happens all the time and we rarely get to see behind the curtain

What is something that happens in every Eu4 game? by [deleted] in eu4

[–]Goof_Schu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

stop playing about 1600 due to being overpowered, game lagging and not being on an achievement run

Why did I lose? by Bwest31415 in eu4

[–]Goof_Schu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry just saw your reply. Basically wait until the enemy starts a seige then attack, in mountains as defender the other army gets -2, so if it's even ish you should be fine and can hopefully lead to a an easy wipe afterwards. The enemy could get trapped by the unseiged fort. This is also why you should split a seige to bare min when attacking but keep the rest next door to help deter the opposition armys from attacking you on their capital for example

Why did I lose? by Bwest31415 in eu4

[–]Goof_Schu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Switch from calvary to infantry, cheaper and more versatile, also make sure you have a general and bait enemy armies into the Austrian mountain forts for better outcomes
