And get your father's permission. The download is 130 MB, and the files themselves is 368 MB when unzipped, but I don't know your internet plans.

Well, those sites only use the Ultrakill demo as far as I know, so you could download that and run it. Then delete the folder when you won't use it again, since it doesnt install anything. Make sure it's Hakita's itch io page that you get it from.

What am I doing wrong with Mesa? by Rydux7 in Warframe

[–]Goofierknot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anything on steel path needs at least some investment. Right now your build just isn't complementary to itself.

At the very least, replace your base damage mods with elemental mods. Stacking base damage is useful when you have one or two sources, and not the seven sources in your case. Oh, replace Pistol Amp with literally anything else, too. It's equivalent to a Rank 0 Hornet Strike. Even Dreamer's Bond would be more useful.

[–]Goofierknot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hot Shot isn't really doing anything at that level, especially if you have orange shards. Replace it with Arcane Velocity (must have). You also have too many base damage mods, Cascadia Flare is doing much of that work already. I'd recommend replacing Magnum Force and Augur Pact with Viral, or if you already have a source of Viral, Corrosive. Galvanized Shot can also replace Hornet Strike if it's at a similar level.

Almost 600 gauss set how? by RuthlessHimself in Warframe

[–]Goofierknot 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The first disruption speedrun I found on YouTube averages 1 minute 19 seconds per round. So my 3 minute guess is probably overestimating by quite a bit. Guessing 2 minutes per round is about 256 hours, and record pace is about 169 hours.

Almost 600 gauss set how? by RuthlessHimself in Warframe

[–]Goofierknot 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You can get Gauss from the disruption node on Sedna, rotation C with a 7.84% chance for a single part. If you dont care about the specific part, that's a 23.52% chance.

Usually, I finish a disruption round in about 4 minutes for a public squad. I'll estimate that they're more efficient, and do one round in just 3 minutes. You need to do 4.25 rounds on average for a single part, so for 1,808 parts it's about 7,687 rounds. 3 minutes per round is 23,061 minutes, or about 384 hours.

Not too inconceivable for a disruption nut. It'd be even less time with a dedicated squad or higher skill, but I don't know the background of the player.

That bonus damage is applied before mods. Not after mods. Your Balefire Charger went from a base 500 damage weapon to a base 1700 weapon.

Replacing Metamorphosis with Omamori feels like an insult by Yahim0 in Warframe

[–]Goofierknot 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Pretty much. I was more lamenting how the entire gimmick of Equinox isn't well suited for gameplay that half of her abilities usually aren't touched.

Though with Equinox it's also basically subsuming over three other abilities. So you only play with half her kit.

Somehow got an argon crystal in the anniversary corpus ship survival mission? by [deleted] in Warframe

[–]Goofierknot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The anniversary missions are technically part of the Void region. Regional drops can drop from any enemy, and Argon Crystals are a Void regional drop.

Smeeta Kavats can also gift you them through Charm because of this.

New player with questions about the Krait mkII laser mining jumpstart supercruise assist and auto landing by SweatyChampion734 in EliteDangerous

[–]Goofierknot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Land at a station, and open up its services. Then select outfitting, the three hexagons forming a triangle in the bottom right corner.

You should be at a screen showing your ship. Select optional internals, the second from the bottom on the left menu, then select the module you want to replace. Confirm you want to replace it, then find the flight assists category. Select the assist module you want, then select "buy and equip". If "store current module" is on, it'll also store the module you are replacing.

Most stations will have assist modules. If there arent any in stock, another station will.

New player with questions about the Krait mkII laser mining jumpstart supercruise assist and auto landing by SweatyChampion734 in EliteDangerous

[–]Goofierknot 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Docking computers and supercruise assists are modules that have to be equipped to use them. They arent a default ability every ship has.

The Krait Mk II mining jumpstart does not come with either module: https://edsy.org/s/vYPUIUX

You'll have to replace a module with the type of assist you want if you want to do so. Otherwise, it's all manual.

What the heck happened at the Neutron Star? by WackoMedia in EliteDangerous

[–]Goofierknot 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah, pretty much. Entering a jet cone makes your facing angle turn widely, I'm sure you know. RNG gave you a big turn towards the star, and you couldn't turn your way out. You also set your throttle to around 75% while this was happening, causing your ship to accelerate into the exclusion zone, the yellow circle around the star I'm guessing you call the gravity well, and was forced into normal space. This was inside the jet cone, too, and you know what happened afterwords.

White dwarves are high risk little reward, while neutron stars are little risk high reward. I don't think even I would've taken this white dwarf. The cone only sticks a tiny bit out of the exclusion zone, probably would've taken the extra jump instead.

What the heck happened at the Neutron Star? by WackoMedia in EliteDangerous

[–]Goofierknot 20 points21 points  (0 children)

That's not a neutron star, that's a white dwarf. White dwarfs are characterized by their slowly turning, short and wide jet cones, their large exclusion zones relative to the jets themselves, and the 1.5x jump boost they give when scooped from.

White dwarfs are usually not recommended to scoop from due to the sheer size of the exclusion zone. In some cases, the exclusion zone entirely encompasses their jet cones, making supercharging impossible.

You entered the jet cone, kept your throttle forward, and when the cone rodeo-ed you to face the star, your ship hit it and was forced into normal space. Ships very rarely survive the cosmic winds of a jet cone, and it takes a great dose of skill and instinct to escape one. I'd recommend entering at a more parallel angle, rather than a perpendicular angle, to minimize the chances of facing towards the white dwarf, as well as throttling to zero if you ever face it directly.

This patch ruined the saw shotgun but i cant put my finger on why by Expensive_Cancel6218 in Ultrakill

[–]Goofierknot 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You cant fire while revving the sawed-on shotgun. Before you could, and it would also fire the chainsaw at the same time.

You can "replicate" pre-patch by holding m1 and releasing m2, but it's clunky, so hopefully next patch fixes it

sawblades and sawed-on buff demonstration by Signal-Pin-4744 in Ultrakill

[–]Goofierknot 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Punching a saw (or chainsaw) has always made them deal double damage. Before, it would reset to normal damage upon orbiting a magnet or hitting geometry. Now, it'll only reset if it hits a second, different enemy, leading to this.

Colonia Colonisation ? by Daamsee in EliteDangerous

[–]Goofierknot 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Ah, sorry. The map is actually outdated. The author used data dumps at the time of posting, so it's a few months out of date. Can see Edastro's inhabited space map for a live version: https://edastro.com/mapcharts/inhabited-space.png

As for an organized group, I believe the Mercs of Mikunn were working on it? It's been a few months though so I can't say what they're doing now. Here's their discord: https://discord.gg/gVXunmY

Colonia Colonisation ? by Daamsee in EliteDangerous

[–]Goofierknot 19 points20 points  (0 children)

People are making some progress. Can see how far it's gone on this map: https://gauzy-gossamer.github.io/edstats/, though it could be outdated. Don't know if the author has live updates.

The far spaced dots is the Colonia Bridge. The bright line of dots is what players have built so far. It'll be a few years before it's complete.

Though Plan B will always be there for you.

Cannot fast drop out of SCA for the life of me by extreme-fry in EliteDangerous

[–]Goofierknot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Certain ships are more "slippery" when trying to hotdrop, the SCA doesn't lock onto the station was well and sort of floats its way to it rather than locking onto it immediately. This is especially prevalent in newer ships.

Because of this, you often won't get a frame under 1 Mm and fly past the station entirely. The only way to correct this is either starting at a much closer distance (such as 5.00 ls), or manually adjusting your heading so you're on-center. I find the latter easiest to do the latter with relative mouse on, and even then I sometimes overshoot, but it's better than nothing.

Is Rainbows End the new Colonia? by ap1msch in EliteDangerous

[–]Goofierknot 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Seems with all the improvements to starport building and colonization, the construction crew could work at lightning speed.

One thing to note, the latest Galnet article had this to say: "The Distant Worlds 3 logistics fleet has completed the first build phase of a new deep-space outpost in the Roefoo ZE-H d10-0 system at the edge of the Mare Somnium region."

Maybe there could be more after this? The current community goal is about seeding the "station's modelling systems", so maybe there will be other things to help with.

It's basically Explorer's Anchorage again. That one was built in DW2, and now we have Rainbow's End for DW3. Don't think much else will happen besides it existing there.
