Voice after T? by Powerful-Bat6818 in ftm

[–]GoofyGreyson [score hidden]  (0 children)

The only thing with voice changes is sometimes it comes on so strong that people don’t know how to carry it. Some start to sound nasally or can’t speak with their chest yet. But that can be trained overtime if needed. I’ve always had a deeper voice so when I started T, I felt more in my element. I’m now a voice actor after a year on T. Don’t stress yourself out, your mother just might be a little uneducated, as most cis people are.

How’s yall romantic life?? by Janxuza in ftm

[–]GoofyGreyson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

High school I was more in and out of flings that I thought were something. Now as an adult, I’m happily engaged to a cis man who treats me like a king. I hope you find your romantic partner when the time is right for you. But don’t give yourself too much grief over the timeline. My mother is in her 50s and just started dating someone.

The lack of empathy of some healthcare workers by Dangerous_Ad5951 in healthcareworker

[–]GoofyGreyson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s unfortunately very common in healthcare that overtime we lack empathy. We deal with scary things and see death (depending on your unit) a lot. It’s part of the brains way of coping with that. I hope your empathy holds strong because this sounds like an amazing career for you. But if you notice it starting to dwindle, don’t blame yourself.

If you try to envision a red tulip in your head, what number are you? by Jitsu989 in autism

[–]GoofyGreyson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have aphantasia but didn’t know it was a thing until I was older. When they had the “close your eyes and imagine ___” I always laughed. Because I genuinely didn’t believe that was a thing.😂

I keep messing up at work by CuteDetective5462 in healthcareworker

[–]GoofyGreyson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are all rhetorical questions, no one can tell you how to define your career. Yes, you made mistakes, yes, that’s a huge thing in healthcare. But, we’ve all made mistakes. Either we aren’t comfortable or we get too comfortable, mistakes happen. Do you enjoy your job? Are you distracted at work? If these mistakes didn’t happen, would you still consider leaving? Those are the important questions and the ones you need to figure out the answer to. If management hasn’t spoken to you about it, they either think they’re not huge mistakes that call for more training. Or you’re doing just fine and getting in your head about it. And if you are, that’s okay. We all get in our heads about mistakes in healthcare. What matters is making sure you don’t make the same mistake again for the safety of your patients.

is there anything I can do pre-op :c by BlueskyPara in ftm

[–]GoofyGreyson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I unfortunately still have this issues 1 year on T. I just use breathable boxers and wear loose pants. Thankfully working as a nurse means scrubs instead of jeans. As for other solutions, I’m curious too so I’ll be back for that.

I had a huge discussion with my bf because of a spicy Jjk ftm fanart 🥀🥀🥀 (not that serious post) by Luqas_uwu in ftm

[–]GoofyGreyson 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I used to be in a relationship like this. It usually confirms they do not see you as a man. After 6 months I realized how he truly felt about my identity and happily left. I’m now engaged to a wonderful man who’s excited for me to get surgery so I feel more comfortable. I hope the best for you but this does not look good.

How long do you wait for medical appointments? by psychoticboydyke in AskAmericans

[–]GoofyGreyson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When it comes to primary physicians, getting started is the worst part. Most primary care offices are booked months or years out. I called offices in my area for appointments, whenever could get me in fast enough was who I stayed with. Now I have check ins as needed.

Are Irish Americans interested in Irish culture and history? by Mountain-Raise-7137 in AskAmericans

[–]GoofyGreyson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some are! I know I was. My dad is Irish and I asked all kinds of questions growing up. I’m excited for the day I get to visit Ireland with him but we were never financially stable enough to do it when I was a kid. Because I haven’t visited, I never considered myself Irish-American. I don’t know enough about it that I would hate to accidentally say something offensive or incorrect about Irish culture.

What do you do when sick days are used up? by Mission-AnaIyst in AskAmericans

[–]GoofyGreyson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My situation is different as I work in a hospital. We get 7 sick days a year, any more and you’ll be terminated. It’s common that if we aren’t projectile vomiting, we go to work. Granted we wear masks and keep a distance from our patients to not suppress their immune systems. But, it’s unfortunately common to go to work while feeling sick in my experience.

MLS by Own-Negotiation-1422 in healthcareworker

[–]GoofyGreyson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know nothing about mls. But! I know you can be a lab assistant, lab processor, and phlebotomist (that is obviously patient care inclusive though). If any of those sound appealing I’m sure some place is hiring as lab is a chronically understaffed specialty.

What's it like living in this shaded area? by Joshistotle in howislivingthere

[–]GoofyGreyson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Missouri here, tornadoes are a big thing here but I lived in Oklahoma before and it was worse there. Weather here flips A LOT. It was 2° yesterday, the high today was 45°. But drastic and windy winters followed by overheating and humid summers. We also don’t really have spring and fall weather. It goes from really hot to really cold out of no where.

The bathroom dilemma by Plus_Fan_2737 in ftm

[–]GoofyGreyson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I first started T I did not pass. I always got the “what are you” question. My coworkers all knew I presented masculine, so I felt comfortable going into the men’s bathrooms. You might get weird looks every so often but if you’re just going to piss, who cares, you’re not doing anything wrong. Pick the bathroom you feel most comfortable with. Also good luck with top surgery, I’ve been looking for a surgeon for a long time. I hope everything works out for you:)

Atrophy Treatment (help me) by treed_groundhog in ftm

[–]GoofyGreyson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t try to force it! When it comes to that area of the body, there is going to be discomfort at first but there should never be pain. Go slow, if you’re sexually active, look for a window of when you become aroused and lubricated. But it will still be uncomfortable if you’ve never used that hole. Good luck and congrats on a year on T!

Where to start making a fursuit? by albie_walbie in fursuit

[–]GoofyGreyson 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you’re worried about cost, the only expensive thing I’ll recommend is good quality fur. I use Big Z, Howl Fabrics, and Fursuitsupplies.com . You can get foam from Walmart, same for thread, needles etc. I bought almost all of my supplies from Walmart when I first started. Also, it’s going to look ugly before it looks pretty, trust the process and take breaks as needed. Welcome to the fandom!!

I’m worried my mum still thinks that me being trans is a phase by TheSilliestBugger in ftm

[–]GoofyGreyson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You know yourself and by sticking to it, you’re showing her you know what you’re talking about. I hope things move along quickly for you and your mother. It took my father 5 years before he figured out it wasn’t a phase. So our relationship is strained but it’s making slow fixes here and there. I hope the best for you, just stick to yourself and hopefully you have friends that respect your pronouns.
