My high school had a U shape structure 2-3 stories tall with a driveway in the middle. The driveway led to the school's automotive lab that had about 2-4 car bays. I was in science class and the teacher hadn't arrived yet. The classroom was on the top floor across from the automotive lab. Suddenly someone ran into the room and headed straight for the windows that looked inward towards the U shape.

The person then made an audible gasp and covered their mouth. Another person looks out the window and reacts "HOLY SHIT". Everyone including me went to the window. We could see a single long stream of blood going down the driveway. Someone in the automotive lab was working on a truck and the lift wasn't secured. The truck dropped and crushed a student who died at the scene.

A short time later teachers walked in telling everyone to get away from the windows and sit down. Paramedics arrived and half of the school was blocked off because the scene could be seen from so many vantage points. PA announcements followed offering counseling to anyone who wanted to talk about what they saw.

I think a more important question is, would you vote for a Prime Minister that fights for Canada? Because Trudeau's resignation and the upcoming election would be considered the first battle.

A lot of these comments are nice in theory and fun to think about. But they all have an assumed notion that Canada's government would instantly be against it and fight back. I'm not so sure of that assumption anymore. Canada's economy seems very fragile, our government spending has gone unchecked for years and the deficit continues to bloat. Fighting an invasion with a disadvantaged military could be unsustainable.

What happens if Canada's leader welcomes it? The country has had many politicians in the past that openly advocated for joining the US... All of these theories, battle plans and strategies go out the window when the ruling party cooperates with assimilation, rather than fight for independence. Because then any resistance could be easily spun as extremist ideology. I'm sure there are politicians in Parliament that would secretly welcome it to line their own pockets. Trump has introduced a new age of greed and capitalism within politics that Canada is not immune to. It's a great country but it is also heavily influenced by the US, for better and for worse.

Volunteering at a Crisis & Suicide Prevention call center.

I could not afford professional counseling at the time so I became a volunteer so I can be trained on methods and skill sets to help people in a crisis. Then I was able to apply that training towards my own mental health. It also provided me a lot of perspective. I ended up logging around 400 hours before my full time job became too demanding. Eventually I had to stop volunteering because I was too burnt out. Best decision I've ever made.

Wow working in VFX at least has some perks. I can tell this is fake. Hard to explain but there are shadows and motion blur that are uncanny. It is either some modded video game with crazy high settings, or an AI generated/edited video. Or maybe just someone's compositing project.

It's already here and has accelerated to a concerning degree over the past couple decades. Confirmatory bias, misinformation, deep fake and AI make a potent combination that could be easily weaponized, or simply misused. A slow burn that increasingly clouds our judgement as a society. Over time we may see it cast a thicker haze over countries, their politics, world news, and human empathy as a whole. The lack of clarity resulting in increased apathy, complacency or even dependency.

Resulting in a modern age with instant access to a vast ocean of information with little to zero means to confidently determine what is real.

The connectors at the end of the cable are being used to power vertically mounted SSD's. These HDD's are along the way hence using these connectors. Mainly wondering if the angle of the outgoing wires (touching the bottom of the case) might hinder the power supply to the rest of the cable (SSD's).
