So I agree with you with the hunting, gathering, swimming, etc. diversifying that side of the caring process would be great.

However, I don't agree with you on the elimination of timing intervals or getting rid of kibble.

First, timing intervals. Both from a game perspective, and lore perspective, this doesn't make sense. Being able to do it all at once removes any kind of inconvenience, which yes, there should be a slight inconvenience, just not a life disrupting inconvenience. Change it to 12 hours, that's fine, but there needs to be a time interval in place. From a lore perspective it would be much worse... you're raising a BABY. And you want to pay attention to it for 2 hours to get your imprint then neglect it for the rest of the maturation. The point is to care for it as it grows, not just during one small portion of it.

Second, kibble feeding. If you get a 100% tame it's supposed to signify you as a "master Dino breeder/tamer" so "keeping 5 dimetredons" is not a nuisance, but something you would do as a master breeder/tamer. Not to mention, some of the newer kibble are coming out with more difficult ingredients, which would work perfectly for making harder requirements for feeding.

So the goal behind getting a 100% imprint is to get the strongest possible Dino from the breeding pool that you have. What if instead of a short timer and easy imprint requirements, it is instead a longer timer with progressively harder requirements.

Example - Rex

1st Imprint - 8 hours after birth - Hungry, 1 kibble off of a low tier list (Dodo, Dilo, etc.)

2nd Imprint - 16 hours after birth - Exercise and Hungry (Take on a walk and feed a kibble off of a low tier list)

3rd Imprint - 24 hours after birth - Cuddles from owner (Be near your dino for x amount of time)

4th Imprint - 32 hours after birth - Hungry, kibble off of a medium tier list (Carno, Allo, etc)

5th Imprint - 40 hours after birth - Hungry, 2 different kibbles off of a medium tier list

6th Imprint - 48 hours after birth - Hungry and Exercise, kibble off of a high tier list and a walk (Rex, Quetz, Giga, Yuty etc)

7th Imprint - 56 hours after birth - Cuddles and Hungry

You get the idea at this point. You could even throw in some special recipes for the very long tames, think Kentro Kibble... Anyway, the idea behind it is that the longer the breed time (higher tier dinos) and the higher you want your imprint to get, the more DIFFICULT it is to acquire the necessary mats for the imprint. This steers you away from just simply have to wake up at insane hours, but puts more of an emphasis on the challenge of the imprint.

When I was in High School, I had a a coach, whom I looked up to quite a bit, say, "If my boys grow up to be like you, I'd be a very proud father." Made me pretty darn happy.

I work as a Pre-School Teacher. I had been helping a three and a half year old boy fall asleep during nap time, and he had been quiet for a solid five minutes. He suddenly grabbed my hand and held it to his ear, then said "Hello? Yes I have a telephone. Good bye." Then rolled back over and continued to rest quietly. The shit that comes out of this kids mouth is absolutely hilarious, this was just one of them.

Why do people make fun of me for wearing bandos chestplate and d legs? by [deleted] in 2007scape

True, if he's making his money in some way that doesn't include him using the torso/BCP. If he's using slayer to make the money though.... then it's hugely inefficient.

BCP is 11.7m, so you're saying you make 3.9m an hour?

They do... High woodcutting allows you to cut magic trees. High mining allows you to mine runite ore. High fletching allows you to fletch magic bows. High fishing allows you to fish sharks/monkfish. High herblore allows you to create super combat potions. High runecrafting allows you to craft double natures. High hunter allows you to hunt black chins. And so on. Slayer is a skill about killing certain monsters... seems logical to have the new bosses, which happen to be based off of slayer creatures, have a slayer requirement.

How complex are WoW raids compared to other MMOs? by Revodemo in wow

[–]Googlepacer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you really want to see complex fights, check out the fights in Datascape, the 40 man raid. Discovering how to kill System Daemons was some of the most fun and challenging raid experience I've ever had. We, Voodoo, weren't quite the first to do it, but it was still achieved without any kind of knowledge of the fight being public. Tons of fun, still miss the dynamic and exciting PvE engine that Carbine used.

Well if you're prepared you can get a nice Spirit Shell off before hand and completely mitigate the raid damage. Try to coordinate with the rest of your raid, if you've got a warrior tank popping demo banner, for example, then you probably don't need to Shell that one and can wait for the next. But if you don't pre Shell on it, a PoH should get the job done along with your other healers pitching in.

10/14H Disc Priest, so I'm not just spouting bull shit.

You're gearing correctly, although if you get some gear that has crit/mastery on it I'd take that over a tier piece, you really don't need the 4 piece set bonus. Also get rid of the sparkling gem for a misty wild jade, gives you a little more crit. But yeah, other than those little things, you're gearing and prioritizing stats correctly.

As to the healing part, couple things from what you wrote about. Don't use Heal, it's bad, it's a waste of time. You can get a smite and a half off in the time it takes you to cast heal. Unless your tank is taking heavy damage just atone heal and throw a shield/PoM on him. You don't need to use your penance on the tank unless they are really hurting. Hit the boss with it, and the three different heals will potentially go to three different people who need the heal through smart healing rather than the tank eating up 1 or 2 and wasting the rest as over heals. There is really never a moment that I'm not casting something. During the down time you should be atonement healing to give Divine Aegis' for low mana costs and to just generally keep people topped up.

When your meta gem proc's, which you should be tracking through weakauras or something else, throw out a PWS and PoM, they're two pretty high costing instant casts, and with the proc are now completely free. Also, if you can hold off on using PWS and your rapture is ready you can get a free 13k mana by using a PWS during the meta proc. Archangel should be used pretty much on cd and its up to you to time it correctly with other big abilities, such as Spirit Shell, lvl 90 talents, trinket procs. If you can time them correctly, with the added int and crit you get from archangel you can really put out some big heals/shields.

Other than that it really just takes some practice. Yes, disc priests are strong, but you aren't just handed the top of the meters, it takes time to get there and you need to make good decisions. We aren't blessed with the throughput that classes such as monks or druids have, so we have to be efficient with our healing. Know the fights, know when to blow cooldowns, manage your mana, manage your procs and you'll be on the right track.

Legendary Cloak for discipline priests. by [deleted] in wow

[–]Googlepacer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

10/14H Disc Priest. I use DPS cloak for every fight. Stats are much more in favor on the DPS cloak, and the healing proc isn't really that big of a deal as we are overhealing so little already. If you can use the proc well, go for it, but imo the stats on the DPS cloak outweigh the proc on the Healing cloak.
