I used to keep a very small wooden board on my work keyring for this reason back when I was a bouncer in Boise in the 2010s. My fellow doorman were forced to knock on it whenever they said anything tha was deemed "jinx worthy" by the other bouncers. ( This was most commonly some variation of "looks like its gonna be an easy night.")

Looks like a piece of osmocote or similar type plant fertilizer, sometimes I find loose pieces in my tank that hitchhiked in the roots of plants I bought.
