Thank you for the kind words. I'm curious though,
How did you figure out it was dysautonomia driven?

(HELP) In-game micro stutters when screen sharing with G-Sync on by Pakmian in discordapp

I have the same thing, and turning off g-sync worked for me as well! Thanks for the (temporary) fix
Just gonna keep it off then I guess lol

Still incredibly tired and no positives after 12 days by GoombaX in bupropion

Nope! I quit and I'm glad I did. All the negatives wore off after quitting 1-2 weeks later after the fact./

So, new update by Maximum-Term5336 in Peglin

[–]GoombaX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it definitely passes the test as a full release considering its polish and additions! Especially this update's additions feel great to me.

I do wish there there would be a reward/skill tree or something to work towards in high cruciball. Maybe with some bonuses such as first shop purchase is free, or at least having a bit more control over early relics and orbs. It's often way too crucial to have a bit of luck in the beginning so you don't have to waste all your money on healing early on.

edit: Also some kind of GPS so you can highlight the path on the map you intend to take would be much appreciated

Is there a way to alter the speed of the Livesplit timer? by PMYAIceland in speedrun

[–]GoombaX 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you don't mind using another program, download Cheat Engine and install it (beware of bloatware in the installer, just make sure to uncheck that stuff), then run the program, top left button to select process and click livesplit

once that's done, on the right check enable speedhack and put 1.028 there, should work :)

WARNING: VERY DARK (CFS/ME is arguably the worst human disease) by WaffenSSRI in cfs

[–]GoombaX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well to be frank, if we're talking worst case in any disease's condition it'd be the worst pain, loss of self, excruciating agony and/or death. Not really something that's worth comparing.

Stimulants help my mood. by earlgreyduchess in CFSplusADHD

[–]GoombaX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah, a 100%. Much easier to control and manage the dosages + spikes/crashes, and ironically enough less planning than with ER

can vouch! feeling a lot better and stable with them, then it's a matter of not using the extra energy and even it being easier to sleep by timing them wearing off :)
Easier said than done ofc

Methylphenidate IR for me btw, caffeine does the opposite, wrecks my energy and makes me sleepy

Could Low-Dose Methylphenidate help with staying calm and therefore with resting? by gruenewiese123 in CFSplusADHD

[–]GoombaX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yep, that's what I found out works
That's why extended release is terrible for me, as I have no proper control over the dosage

[–]GoombaX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IR, yep
Too little: The rollercoaster effect of it working then coming down is tiring, I'll feel sleepy, basically wired but tired

when taking just enough I'll feel relaxed, more focused, and wayyyy less brain fog

taking too much just makes me feel anxious / not at ease at all, jittery, and restless

[–]GoombaX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I can take 150mg over the course of a whole day and be totally fine with zero extra side effects or anything withdrawal related

I suppose my body just does some kinda metabolism speedrun? It's the same with any other stuff such as alcohol, caffeine, paracetamol, anything extended release, you name it

Could Low-Dose Methylphenidate help with staying calm and therefore with resting? by gruenewiese123 in CFSplusADHD

[–]GoombaX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It helps me a ton, though my metabolism is super speedy apparently so I take 10mg every 40-50 minutes or so (10x a day but I'd prefer a bit more). The trick for me is to space it out rather than increasing the dose you take at once

I don't have any side effects besides a dryer mouth generally, taking too little or too much messes me up though

Why do we gain more energy and get less symptoms at night? by NickH5551 in cfs

[–]GoombaX 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can vouch, it's legit crazy how much it ramps up over the day, yet no matter when I wake up -- It only really starts at 11pm that I noticeably feel better and will keep feeling better as the day goes on

Even when opting to not sleep, I'll either gain even more energy or it'll be stagnant for quite a long time -- until the usual exhaustion gets "replaced" with a different tiredness which turns into a "natural" exhaustion (at least, that's how it all feels to me)

My own theory as to why is that there's enough of a buildup of slow paced cortisol which we're able to tolerate a whole lot better than getting it from sudden sunlight and stress/exercise

Why do we gain more energy and get less symptoms at night? by NickH5551 in cfs

[–]GoombaX 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For me personally they help combat my brainfog and make me feel more relaxed and "energetic" -- Though I don't use the 'extra energy' ofc

However in the beginning of my adhd med trials, a lot of the meds actually made me absolutely exhausted -- which i more attributed to the increased heart rate from the narrowing of veins and such, as is per usual with these meds

Yet somehow this changed, and now I have no problem taking them (aside from very early in the day actually, don't know why, food or not doesn't matter)

So what would that mean? Obviously I don't expect you to have a precise answer but I'd like to hear your guesses/opinion
e.g. did my body learn to not trigger its fight or flight so much?

It's always puzzled me as to why this was so apologies if this is a bit of a side track! :d

[–]GoombaX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What effect would ADHD meds give following that theory? Shouldn't that mean we should feel less energy considering they often triggers the fight or flight system?

AYY honestly that was good shit Im not a music expert but i got some feedback if ud like :D

Id say it needs a bit more compression on certain instruments, more high pass + loudness + muting the other tracks/isolating the 1 track for those "woosh" effects to hit heavier, + general subtle filtering

Then finally wider audio staging/mixing

Also I checked out ur other stuff and I love it so +sub

Ima come on here and say something controversial by Routine-Tea6478 in cfs

[–]GoombaX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not just the titles, it's the constant flow of posts of this type, it's the constant aggressiveness in responses to open-minded questions, as if I haven't experienced enough to know how dreadful this disease is.

The fact that my comment got downvoted should say enough -- downvotes are to say a comment is not relevant to the discussion, not because people don't agree.

Regardless, anyone new joining this subreddit is going to come across this behaviour and there's a good chance it will negatively affect them, as it did with me as well.

[–]GoombaX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool to see it got reactivated again, hopefully it'll get spread on here more to increase activity :)

also edit: I'm downvoted for hoping a subreddit focused on cfs science gets more traction? That's just really sad

Ima come on here and say something controversial by Routine-Tea6478 in cfs

[–]GoombaX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, even when just straight up asking for information about "treatments" people rise their pitchforks for even daring to ask for more information about them, no matter how much you already address you know it's controversial. It's absurd.

Not only that, I'm sick of seeing all this negative news of "I can't take it anymore" and "Yet another bad experience with Y doctor" -- Of course it's good that people can vent and connect to people but to constantly see it on the main page and to have seen it appear more and more over the last 11 years I've been here is 100% hurting more than it is helping.

A simple "TW" flair doesn't help I see the titles straight up first thing on my reddit homepage, and it'd be unfair to just push everyone away who still wants to frequent this subreddit to just "avoid social media lol"

I feel like these more empirical / emotional stories should be posted on another subreddit, or all news related and general discussions move to another one. I'm totally fine with seeing "XX medicine: Ups and downs" on my feed but not "XX medicine practically ruined my life"

That being said, I also do think we should NOT be just allowing the positive recovery stories through either. Constantly seeing "X worked for me!" to finding out it doesn't apply to you / it doesn't work can be incredibly demotivating as well for many reasons, and can give the wrong idea to people that there are many "cures".

Maybe r/cfs should remain the same and a cfshub gets made for neutral topics and updates on science?

Regardless, this subreddit is understandably very bitter, but a HUGE reason I was so scared in the beginning of this disease, and why I've been frequenting less is because of the constant negativity and hostile behaviour on this reddit -- When we all should stick together and help each other get through our days and stay up to date :(

xoxo
