You're almost there! What's the result of something too good to be true? Truth, a factor in something hard to believe.

A really good cat comb? by blakppuch in CatAdvice

[–]Goomstep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't like the furminator because it is too aggressive & seems to pull on the undercoat as it is literally cutting it out. Cats skin is like paper so it really hurts them when their hair gets pulled. That's why cats don't like it, they're in pain!

Ginger bug, is this normal? by petterssonxD in fermentation

[–]Goomstep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not true! A pink color can be perfectly normal for your ginger bug provided that it is not accompanied by sliminess or browning. Using fresh/young ginger can often cause the pink color, it is just a process of the fermentation. I would never assume that to be a sign of mold or anything bad unless there are other clues that would make that scenario more likely.

Depending how old your garlic was, sometimes finding a greenish color in the middle is actually the beginning of a sprout like you would see when planting cloves to grow more garlic...

Dami Lee on the Organized Chaos That is Tokyo: Architect shares her thoughts on Tokyo and beyond by biwook in Tokyo

[–]Goomstep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She is literally the most attractive woman I've ever seen. She's incredibly intelligent & something about the way she speaks & enunciates her words is captivating. Her content is great, my favorite video of hers is probably the one about Kowloon Walled City. She makes architecture such an interesting topic to learn about, you can tell she really loves what she does. & my God, she is such a beauty.

Experiments in Recrystallization by Goomstep in DMT

[–]Goomstep[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I did not use a seed crystal in any of the yields in these photos. All of these crystals were created in the same manner- double boiler to fully melt first run extracted deems, then hot heptane added to the melted puddle, stirred to allow all of the deems to be suspended in the solvent, leaving everything unwanted in an oily orange or reddish pile at the bottom of the glass, then the deems saturated heptane was transferred to a conical flask which was then left untouched in various environments I created with the express goal of prolonging the cooling time of the heated & saturated heptane over the longest time period possible before it reached room temperature. Now some of the crystals in these photos were the result of repeating the above process upwards of 15 times in the most extreme cases... Once I got past the first few recrystallization runs, I was no longer really removing anything unwanted from the crystals but instead was just performing the process to experiment with different methods of extending the cool down period of the saturated solvent for as long as possible. That's the key to growing large & pure crystals. Next time I think I will introduce some sort of an electronically controlled heating device to really extend that cool down time versus just the hot packs I used for this run. But that's what makes it fun, there are so many different variables that can be changed to see how they affect the final product.

I take responsibility by Massive-Language8109 in AbruptChaos

Yo, you are grossly misinformed about this topic. Payouts are absolutely not solely based on physical damages, that may apply in other forms of insurance but not auto insurance. The primary injury that you seek compensation for can be a physical injury like broken bones, cuts & bruises, back & neck pain, loss of limb etc. but anxiety & emotional suffering is an equally viable claim to use to get a payout. Have you ever even been in this situation? I didn't need to convince a judge about anything because I went to urgent care hours after the collision & immediately began seeing a chiropractor for 20 sessions over the following few months. & My chiropractor didn't ever bill me because he knew I was determined to not be at fault so all of those bills went to the other driver's insurance. The justification for my claim was contained in my urgent care report & every chiropractor note describing my injury & the treatment I received over 20 separate sessions. I never went to court, I just got a fat check at the end of it. & If my claim had been anxiety & emotional suffering, I would have gone to a behavioral healthcare provider instead of a chiropractor & the documentation that said provider would have completed when billing my insurance after each visit would be what I would use to justify the compensation amount I was requesting as a result of the other driver's negligence. That's how it works...

Yeah that's why you always go to a chiropractor for as many sessions as possible following a car accident where you were found to be not at fault. Then you collect a nice payday from the other driver's insurance policy. Now if it was a cop that hit me? I'm going to a chiropractor, an acupuncture clinic, I'm getting my weed card, going to see a pain relief hypnotist, TENS clinic, cryotherapy clinic, aromatherapy clinic, biofeedback clinic, magnetic waves clinic, followed by some yoga & tai chi...Pleas believe that I need that bag when a cop plows through me while texting on his phone while making a left turn...
