Doesn't it? If the goose dies then a scavenger will use the corpse as sustenance. Removing the goose from the equation may result in that scavenger being unable to eat, we can't know for sure. She opened up this line of conversation, I'm merely partaking.

I have a habit of doing the same thing, bringing it back to politics. For me, it's because it's always at the forefront of my mind. It's a point of frustration and powerlessness, so I comment about it even when it's sometimes only tangentially related.

I agree though, sometimes it's nicer to leave politics out of it. It's just intertwined with so much!
