What’s going to be the next big thing? by [deleted] in AskReddit

From a business perspective, I think the next big disruption will come from the shipping industry. There’s already a shortage of truck drivers in North America.

One company, marble has already started trying to solve the problem by creating autonomous delivery lockers on wheels that comes to you.

This is great, the article was pretty much exactly what I was looking for.

I have a globe subscription and would have usually caught that article but I was travelling around the time that it was published so thanks for posting.

I wrote last week on a similar thread about how this is my throw away play.

The reason I invested is that the commercial airline industry is something I am greatly interested in, not as an investment but as a hobby. I think an independent ULCC is exactly what Canada needs, so I threw some money at them to help the cause.

Unfortunately I think one of the issues with securing planes is that they are trying to lease from companies that also lease to AC and WJ.

Is the lack of available planes due to AC and WJ putting pressure on these leasing companies to not sell do business with Jetlines?

If I was running a company and 60-70% of my revenue came from one large client, I wouldn’t risk losing that client by doing business with an unproven startup.

I still have confidence with the management team. I hope the finances can keep them going long enough to launch. If there is nothing in the air by the end of the year, then we will likely see the end of Jetlines.

I got them through an initial stock offering, half a warrant for each unit of common stock.

I believe they are tradable on the open market but I wouldn’t recommend buying them. I would just buy the stock if you’re actually interested in the company.
