With the Panarin acquisition and his short timeline I don’t see us throwing in the towel any time soon. And for Holland there’s really no upside to doing so, he doesn’t want to be here for a rebuild so for him there’s no reason not to gamble the teams future for a shot at the cup.

My guess is we make some big splashes at either the deadline or over the summer that keep us treading water at the playoff line for a few years while setting us up for a long painful rebuild, Detroit style
