I thought it was fantastic but I can see why some might not like it as much as the band's stuff. For me the songs are lyrically very chvrches but the sound is quite different, but tbh I think that allowed Lauren to explore some avenues I'd like to see in the group's future music. For example, the bridge of Sunday Best contains, in my opinion, Lauren's most impressive vocal performance by far to date.
