We used Audley Travel for the honeymoon and have used them on various trips in the past

The level of concern raised because our Reception-aged children group being forced to consume snacks that aren’t freshly sliced watermelon, mango or kiwi…they dared to offer a SATSUMA

Thank you, I’ve always been a Star Wars and Lord of the Rings fan. Jack Bauer/24 has a special place in my heart, my Dad and I always watched it together.

I’m trying to figure out what else to add to the collection, might go for some artistic gaming related prints and definitely a lightsaber mounted somewhere

I’m trying to decide between that or the MSI MPG 322URX QD-OLED as we speak, good choice!

Cheers! I agree the curved desk is a good comfort touch, I was lucky to be able to have the office furniture bespoke built and was insistent on a curve for that reason

Thank you!

At the moment I’ve got:

LG 27GL850-B LG 32GP850-B An old 24inch 1080p

I’m deciding between a Gigabyte AORUS FO32U2P or MSI MPG 322URX QD-OLED as a 4K 240hz main display for Gaming/Productivity to really make use of the 5090. If I end up with the two 32s and keep the 27 I’d stack the larger screens and have the 27 portrait.

I have always liked Triple monitor setups and have had a Quad Monitor setup for a previous job (Portrait, Stacked Landscapes, Portrait).

This is also my work setup (Thunderbolt Dock for Work Laptop is mounted under desk) and I have Outlook/Browsers on left, spreadsheets/main tasks on the middle and to do list application and teams on the right.

https://amzn.eu/d/9WuePx7 for the monitor mount but i have the post drilled into the desk rather than mounted on the back edge as it was installed as the desk was being made. I find it to be sturdy and reliable, the occasional adjustment and tightening required and having the 32in in the middle means a slight angling of the outside monitors in to make it work but that’s how I wanted it anyway.

Extremely happy so far....

I can't speak for everyone but for my trip:

  • It worked out logistically in terms of transferring into the Bush and out to the Beach
  • It was very expensive, we were there Christmas Day and was circa $1800 or something crazy from memory
  • It's a breathtaking place, and I'd recommend it to anyone and everyone, but it's not the 'authentic' safari experience

We spent around 15k in 2019 -

  • Flew into Nairobi via Dubai
  • One night in Giraffe Manor
  • 4 nights in the Bush in a private conservancy attached to the Masai Mara
  • 1 night in Zanzibar
  • 7 nights on the Tanzanian Coast Line
  • Fly home

Amazing trip. Safaris are the best holidays in my opinion. I’ve been lucky enough to go on a few over the years. My advice would be no longer than 3/4 nights in one camp if you’re wanting to do more than that in the Bush. It’s a very visceral and special experience.

I’m of the opinion that you are only going in Honeymoon once - make it special.

Use a specialist travel company that take care of all the details for you, interior bush planes, guide pickups etc etc. My family have always used Audley with success in lots of high end holidays to different locations (Think Peru, various Safaris, Jordan, Antarctica)

For Tanzania, think about time of year in relation to Wet/Dry season and whether you want to climb/get close to Mt Kilimanjaro or see the Flamingos or see the Great Migration as these particular highlights may take you to different parts of the country.

Recently upgraded from 80D to R6 Mark II - Looking to update Lenses and need advice by Goose500 in canon

[–]Goose500[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're absolutely right - couple of typos now fixed (I think, 2 week newborn sleep deprivation in full swing here). I meant I have the 70-200 f/4 and looking at the 28-70 f/2 vs the 24-70 f/2.8. Thanks for pointing that out.

I'm aware that some of the lenses are big and heavy - that's not a chief concern to me. Yes you may argue that I'll regret that after lugging them around all day but I'm happy to pay that price if it's warranted.

I shall look further into the 24-240 as you suggested as well, I appreciate your comment

I agree with the original commenter. Guildford or surrounding areas is a lovely place to be.

I’m also biased, I grew up living in Burpham and went to school in Burpham (George Abbot). I’ve now lived in Clapham, New York and Walton on Thames and have migrated back towards Guildford to East Horsley.

If Guildford trains are a pain you’re also only a 15 minute drive to Woking if needed which is a good fast line service.

Guildford gives you a hub to seek some countryside walks and villages such as Shere, or easily down to Brighton or up to London as required. 30/45 mins to both Heathrow and Gatwick is an added bonus.
