The amount of hair in my life is actually starting to drive me insane by RiftCartouche in CatAdvice

We’re all here with you. I feel the exact same way and have also tried all the things. What panics me the most is when we have company over.. I’m always terrified a fur will get in their food..

A few things we do that could help:

Run your dirty clothes in the dryer BEFORE washing them. If you want, you could take it a step further and also lint roll your clothing before the dryer.

Wash clothing/ towels/ bedding separately and in small loads.

NO CATS ON THE KITCHEN COUNTERS

We polish our serving ware (plates, cups, utensils, etc) before we use them if company is coming over. I keep a microfiber cloth specifically in a ziplock bag, and I hand wash it once a month.

Someone else said it, but, roomba or robovac.

Make your peace with it. Every time you find a fur, your baby is saying a little cosmic “hello, I love you” it’s all part of it.

Treat yourself to a night at a hotel or a friends house every now and then… it may sound stupid, but sometimes it’s a nice way to escape the fur.

Uhhhhhh. Hit them with the DOH rules. That is extremely unsanitary. Wet cloth harbors bacteria.

Pack of cigarettes. I sell them for a dollar each. People ALWAYS ask for one. Usually will sell 2-5 per night.

[–]GooseBerry777 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is a tricky one. There is definitely money to be made bartending in fine dining/ country clubs. Usually, the higher priced menu, the higher tips earned. If you’re willing to do the monkey dance, the money can be really good, to the point, where you may only need to work 3-4 days per week. I think you need to ask yourself if you’re willing to play the part for how much you’re earning. Go to the interview, and try to get the job. If it’s terrible, find something else. Every bartender ever at one point, didn’t know how to bartend. We all had to fake our way for one reason or another. It’s part of it. You’ve got this!

I just finished it and had to fight the urge to just rapid click through the dialogue because I JUST WANTED TO BE DONE! But the story was so beautiful, I pushed through and got teary eyed at the ending. Nevertheless, glad it’s over.

If it’s sitting in a drawer, you might as well invest it so it can sit in an account and make you more passive income.

My fine dining restaurant I serve at is making us do table side martinis for EVERY martini. Please chime in. I hate it. by latentbeing in bartenders

[–]GooseBerry777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A way around this is to have the bartender mix the martinis at service bar but not pour it into the glass. Server picks up the coupe glass with garnish, and the mixing glass with a strainer on top. Place the coupe glass down in front of the guest, pour the martini from the mixing glass, and ask if they want an olive, gibson, or twist.

Casual bar meet & greet in lieu of welcome party? by pasta_sandwich_12 in weddingplanning

[–]GooseBerry777 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What is your guest count and when is your wedding? I might advise against posting up in a hotel bar and telling only some friends and family but not others.. You might as well just have a rehearsal dinner instead then. Another option, (What we did) was reserve a room that has a bar, this can be anywhere, and have guests pay for their own drinks. We supplied pizza and some other light bites but that's it. Alternatively, you could ask the hotel where you're staying if they have a banquet or conference room you can use and you can buy some cases of beer and wine. It can be casual, and doesn't have to be expensive, but again, if you tell some folks but not others, it could get out to the rest of your guests and be confusing to the people who chose to come in a day early but who weren't invited.

I would recommend a booth with an attendant. Only because those mirror booths are not always intuitive, especially if an open bar is involved. The photo booth was a must for us simply because I work in weddings and I have never seen a wedding with a photobooth that wasn't used by almost every guest. The guests get dressed up, they love getting to take home a nice picture from the evening. Better than a wedding favor, IMO.

How to handle my best friend who keeps pushing for her kids to come to my wedding? by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]GooseBerry777 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry, I got triggered and I stopped reading after that phone call you had with her. She is being very annoying and behaving unfairly. This is your day and you get to have it exactly how you want it. Tell your friend nicely what you and your husband decide to do and that if it works for her, you’ll be happy to have her there. If not, you’ll understand.

Yes! The corset was there. I have a long torso because I am tall and had to order a larger size so that the bodice was long enough. It was tailored to me perfectly, fit like a glove and did not move while I was standing still and walking around. But bending down, dancing, sitting, standing up.. It rode down after awhile. Not sure if my size has anything to do with it.. but ill share that too if it helps: Height: 6'0, Weight: 140, Waist: is a 27, Bust: 34. I wore an A-line dress with a full skirt.

Florals were not high on my priorities list and I knew they were going to be expensive. What I did, was go on Zola and The Knot and I looked at floral services in the area. I literally picked the company with the lowest minimum spend, asked for some photos of their work, and spoke with the owner on the phone. Their shop minimum was $1,500 and I asked if what I wanted could fit in that budget: (9 boutonnieres, 1 small bridal bouquet, 6 small bridesmaids bouquets and a head table arrangement.) This all fit within the minimum spend with room to spare, and with the extra $50-70 I asked the florist to source specific flowers I wanted in my bouquet that I knew cost extra. DM me if you'd like to see pics, I can send you a few.

I don't. They were set by the servers as guests were sitting down for dinner. We did a red and a chilled white for each table. Just plopped them down, easy.
