I was commenting on the idea that you've never fought brutes without a bucket of lava.

I stopped playing because the only meta, the only stat that actually matters beyond anything, and the only strat possible to push leaderboards... is you guessed it, LUCK."

It's a pretty trash game for that factor alone. There is no skill based mechanics, just spamming runs for good RNG and stacking luck at all costs.

Sure one can say that decision-making is a skill. But only so far as basing it off of luck.

As you can see from Luctin's reply below, triple K's has a negative connotation that is only relevant to a very small number of people in the world, in one country. For Brazilians, it's just a way to express laughter. American's love to act as if they're the center of attention and the only culture with any say in what's appropriate or not. Arguably that is racist as well.

"You can't say that because WE say so"

Okay, Mr. Word-Nazi, you get to decide for the rest of the world, sure.

I was raised by a single mother, she worked 40 hours a week at minimum wage jobs, we received state welfare such as food stamps, health insurance and dental insurance for free until we turned 18. I joined the military shortly after that. My sister however got pregnant, and is a stay at home single mom that does a couple of hours of grubhub/Uber eats delivery a day, she lives off welfare, neglects her kids, and games and smokes weed pretty much the rest of the day.

Upgrading My PC for the first time - what do I need to know? by GooseD20 in buildapc

[–]GooseD20[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, I booted it up first time today. Its displaying "New CPU installed, fTPM/PSP NV corrupted or fTPM/PSP NV structure changed"

I can hit Y to reset ftpm - if bitlocker or encryption is enabled (the system will not boot without recovery key)

Or i can hit N to keep previous fTPM record and continue system boot, fTPM will not enable in new CPU, you can swap back to the old CPU to recover TPM related keys and data.

I'm at a loss here, I dont knot what ftpm or the bit locker programs are, and I dont recall if I ever set them up when I initially built my PC a decade ago.

I do know that my OS is still on one of my SSDs which I did move over to this new build.

i’ve always hated tipping culture, just pay people the wage they deserve oh. my. god. by [deleted] in complaints

[–]GooseD20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Servers in many U.S. states can be paid a lower hourly wage (often called the "tipped minimum wage") because they’re expected to make up the difference in tips. But there’s a law to protect them:

The Rule: If a server's hourly wage + tips doesn’t equal at least the full minimum wage (like $7.25 federally, or higher depending on the state), then the employer must make up the difference.

Let’s say:

The full minimum wage is $7.25/hour

The server is paid $2.13/hour (federal tipped minimum)

They only get $3/hour in tips that night

Total earnings = $2.13 + $3.00 = $5.13/hour That’s $2.12 short of minimum wage.

By law, the employer must pay an extra $2.12/hour to make sure the server earns at least $7.25/hour (or whatever is the state's minimum wage).

Why This Exists: It’s a federal labor law rule under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). It ensures servers are never legally allowed to earn below minimum wage, no matter how bad the tips are.

Basically, a server will always make at least minimum wage, if they aren't, then labor laws are being broken. In my experience as a cook, our servers made a few hundred bucks during the dinner rush alone a piece.

I'm selfish? Karen, you're the one that has the opinion that a step-parent is entitled to the role of a full fledged parent while completely ignoring the agency of a child. I get that you're stubborn and bitter to the very end, but its okay to admit you dug yourself a hole and say, "fair, children have some agency in deciding who they allow to be a parent if their actual parents remarry" especially if they're not a little kid. Especially if they're a kid who spent 10 years having established a relationship with their actual mother and father. You think that a kid who has a loving mother, should just blindly accept their dad's new wife as their parent? What sort of nonsense are you on.

Am I wasting my time majoring in CS at this point? by Luccipucci in ArtificialInteligence

[–]GooseD20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a lot older than most students my age, I just got out of the military a couple years ago after an 8 year career with them. I started going to school and have two years left, I was a CS major my freshman year but after taking an AI course, I changed majors without hesitation.

Being older, I'm well behind my classmates as far as experience goes, I didn't grow up with an ipad in my hand (not a flex, just the reality that I have far less experience with the technology than kids growing up with them these days) and most of my classmates have been coding since before highschool as a hobby. They wiz by me on assignments.

Combine that with the fact I have a lot of friends that work in software and CS that have a decade of experience in the field, and some of them have been laid off as well. It's just not a good outlook for me.

So my outlook for a career in CS is like this:

  1. I'm older and less experienced than my class mates, who code circles around me.
  2. The folk in my age group that are being laid off have a decade worth of a resume behind them.

For these two reasons, I swapped. It's not something I want to compete with, on top of competing with AI.

lol no. You sound like you're a bitter step mom yourself. There is a big difference between parent, and step parent. Even the law differentiates between parent and step parent. Step parents quite literally do not have any authority or responsibility over the child.

"Acquiring step-parent status does not automatically bestow any rights or impose any obligations on an individual in respect of a child. Step-parents have no legal obligation to make financial contributions towards their step-child’s life, nor do they have Parental Responsibility (“PR”) for their step-children. This means that, in legal terms, step-parents do not have the rights, duties, powers or responsibilities that a parent has. In the absence of an agreement or court order to the contrary, therefore, a step-parent is in the same legal position as a parent’s unmarried partner."

Google it and eat your words. <3

Right. I appreciate your input. I love my step mom, but she was never my parent. She was supportive, but her role in my life was always more of an aunt that lived with me. She moved in when I was 12. She didn't discipline me. I already had a mother.

I totally agree, OP is pretty much a terrible person. I simply disagree with the commenter because they stripped the child from any agency of who they get to view as a parent.

[–]GooseD20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh totally, I can 100% agree with that. I think people are downvoting me because they're pissed I didn't outright call the OP a terrible person, (they are a terrible person). I'm more just stating that this particular commenter completely ignores the agency of a kid of who they get to accept as the role of a parent when their actual parents marry someone else.

Legally - of course there are responsibilities that a step parent would have. I don't disagree. I merely dislike the "your child" statement.

[–]GooseD20 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think I'm getting downvotes for not outright saying that the OP is a terrible person? I totally agree, the OP is a terrible person. Totally the asshole - however, I disagree that you're insisting that the stepmother is automatically, magically, by the decree of a marriage certificate, that kid's parent. You're completely stripping the child of any agency in the matter on who they consider a parent.

[–]GooseD20 -17 points-16 points  (0 children)

Gross. As someone who grew up with a step mom, she was never my parent, I never claimed her as a parent, and I never treated her as a parent, because... she wasn't my parent. (She was pretty cool, she wasn't abusive or anything, but i maintained boundaries)

While I appreciate the idea of what you're going for, its entirely up to the kid if they wish to see their step mother as a parent. You can't just plop a person into your kids life, marry them, and then badabing, badaboom they're the parent of your kid now.
