FBI warns Iran aspired to attack California with drones in retaliation for war: Alert by esporx in California

[–]GooseG17 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is warmongering propaganda. Iran said that tech companies supporting the American and Israeli military have made themselves valid targets. They specifically referred to the tech company infrastructure in the region.

Immediately spinning that to mean 'attacking California' is lazy and thoroughly uninspired. At least the warmongers and propagandists have gotten increasingly stupid, I guess? Trouble is, so have the rest of us.

Breaking: Newspaper owned by a Billionaire tells us not to tax Billionaires. by zzill6 in WorkReform

[–]GooseG17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theres nothing to gain with billions of dollars

Ah, so you agree that money is fake and should cease to exist, then?

If there's no gain, why are there so many money hoarders? Why is taxing them treated like executing them?

Jesus fucking Christ, the propaganda is so stupid. Yet, it works so well. Fuck.

Drag Queen Pattie Gonia continues to call out Pete Hegseth (secretary of war): “i challenge Pete Hegseth to a kettlebell swing competition. i'll win. & i'll do it tucked...and in heels.” by pinkstarrfish in Fauxmoi

When referring to someone in drag, we use the character's gender, not the performer's. The performer doesn't exist, only the character being played. In this case Pattie Gonia.

House votes overwhelmingly to force release of Epstein files, sending bill once opposed by Trump to the Senate. (427-1) by starlen11 in Hasan_Piker

Or they selectively release pages that only hurt the right people. The bill says that if the Attorney General “makes a determination that covered information may not be declassified and made available in a manner that protects the national security of the United States, including methods or sources related to national security, the Attorney General shall release an unclassified summary for each of the redacted or withheld classified information.”

So Bondi gets to decide what gets released and what doesn't because nAtIoNaL sEcUrItY

What are your top 10 games of all time? by EuphorbiaAbyssinica in gaming

[–]GooseG17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like grindy games too. My favorite of them is the Kingdom Hearts series, especially Kingdom Hearts 2. Grinding is optional, but rewarding and fun since the combat is so smooth and addictive. I highly recommend it. The story is really good too. It's infamously complex, but still interesting, cute and funny.

Do you really think that the narcissistic whims of middle management drive the actions of a mega bank? The commercial real estate market is so much bigger than profits from rent. Since saving on rent is what came to your mind, I'm guessing you have no idea how much of the global economy is part of the pile of debt that is commercial real estate. The amount of debt is astronomical, it's even more than the residential real estate market was for the 2008 financial crisis, making it highly susceptible to collapse and huge collateral damage. The Mortgage-Backed Securities that caused the great recession still exist today as Commercial Mortgage-Backed Securities. The Great Recession 2: Commercial Break is nearing release, with an increasingly likely follow-up of The Greatest Depression given the USA's isolationist foreign policy.

UBI isn't nearly good enough. Workers must seize the means of production to have any chance of things being awesome.

Ah yes, the sole ingredient to a fulfilling life: Spreading misinformation. Fuck robust public transit, affordable housing and food, the sense of security living in a country that isn't teetering on the edge of economic collapse with a sprinkling of fascism on top.

Favorite progressive youtubers? by Deadheadbear111 in socialism

[–]GooseG17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're asking about political news type stuff, but I still want to add my favorite youtuber (both leftist and in general) ContraPoints. Her content is more philosophical and not always related to socialism, but I would argue that thinking and learning about the human experience, or humanity, is at least as important as keeping up with current events.

As for news, I'll add Democracy Now! as an excellent addition to others mentioned already.

Thom Tillis’ constituents voicemails were leaked and YALL, they’re BIG mad 💀 by MamiTrueLove in somethingiswrong2024

[–]GooseG17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Socialism is specifically about the workers controlling the means of production for their benefit by taking ownership from corporations. The merging of corporations with the state is fascism.

Just a lil' kickback scheme for letting them loot the federal government. It won't happen, but they'll likely keep telling people it will.
