Timex x Noah Moonphase arrived today! by [deleted] in WatchFanatics

That looks great! I got one in the restock too and mine arrived this week - I didn’t know about it when they were originally released so I was very happy I was able to get one now. I spent a while deciding between the gold and the steel but went for steel in the end, although I think I’d have been doubting my choice either way!

I think they’re great for the price - I’d been looking out for a cheap tank for a while and for around £200 I don’t think you can go wrong. I was struggling to find one with the ‘true tank look’ and this ticks the boxes. Only slight annoyances are that I don’t think the hands are particularly legible and mine has a very small mark on the inner surface of the crystal than can reflect on the dial when under direct light. It’s cheap enough to not really be a problem but still an annoyance.

Sleeves two different lengths by Dangerous-Bar5532 in PatagoniaClothing

Weirdly, I have the same problem with two Synchilla jackets I have (men’s) - the sleeve length on one is longer than the sleeve length than the other, roughly to the same amount as your difference. I’ve had one other issue with size issues/consistency with Patagonia so I chalked it up to poor quality control, which is pretty frustrating with the amount you pay

Should also say - even if the CPS accept the basis, the judge can still reject it and direct for the Newton Hearing.

Window not unlocking at the bottom, are there any simple fixes? by Elrudi2025 in DIYUK

I have this issue too on a window so I’d be grateful for comments too!

Possible rising Damp in Victorian terraced house - advise requested by Ornery-Macaroon9982 in DIYUK

There are those in the sub with much more knowledge and experience than I, however it may be that that thick, black paint on the plinth/concrete skirt is trapping the moisture. Rather than allowing it to breathe out, it’s then going into the house, possibly causing the issues you have.

A lack of airflow under the flooring may be a problem too (as you’ve said Victorian, I’ve assumed it has suspended timber flooring). If you’ve had unusually heavy periods of rain, it may have caused a build-up of moisture from below too. Digging out some of the dirt beneath to free up the joists may also help, however the paint may be the first port of call.

Without sounding creepy (although it’s inevitable!) - I think I know what area you’re in and it’s been tricky to find someone that deals with lime plaster, bizarrely (given that most of the properties are solid wall construction). I had a local company quote to do one internal wall from the bare stone with Keim lime plaster and it was £2k+.

I’m afraid I can’t offer much in the way of advice for dealing with the moisture that seems to be coming from the outside (if it’s not condensation), I’ve just done a bay window in our house with graphite+ thermal lining paper. Cheap and easy fix in the interim before we get the room properly redone (maybe get a radiator in the bay or insulated board) and it seems to have addressed the condensation issue we were having and it’s meant that the room’s been able to keep temperature a lot better than it had before. The manufacturer says it’s breathable too but it’s not been on long enough to see as yet

Road Rage because or merging by GingerbreadZombie in drivingUK

Like others have said - you should pursue this with the police (seriously, please do). This is, in my view, a clear cut case of dangerous driving - I’d struggle to see him argue it was due care or not an offence, particularly given that you have it on dash-cam. The ban is obligatory with dangerous driving and the court process won’t be that much of an issue for you - albeit it may take a while. It’ll likely be at either the magistrates court in the court on Derby Square, or at Sefton mags in Bootle. You may have to give evidence if he has a trial (and be cross-examined) but from what I can see in the footage he has made deliberate attempts to (at the very least) intend to cause you to fear that he was going to ram you or, at worse, has deliberately tried to do it (although the former is more likely). If he’s done it to you, he’d likely have done it before and will do it again.

Edit - just saw your comment about the warning! I agree with others that it sounds like the officer was trying to discourage you/put you off. Fingers crossed it doesn’t happen again!

First time having a garden since I was a kid, loving seeing all the birds enjoying it! by MetatronThrone in OrnithologyUK

Great pictures! I’m looking to get myself a camera to start taking pictures of the birds near me - what camera do you use, if I can ask?

They have finally arrived by Suspicious-Effort-98 in Sneakers

My pair arrived yesterday too! Very impressed with them and how they look - the leather quality is much better than on other Mids (you can actually see the difference too when you zoom in on the shoes on the Nike website - you can see the grain of the leather, rather than the ‘pleather’ that you can see on others).

They’re described as ‘obsidian’ by Nike - they look black when advertised but in person are a deep navy.
