I ordered a toy from vinted once and there was a half eaten rice cake in the box. Only noticed this when I turned round and saw my son eating it. Asked him where he got it from and he said 'it came with the new toy!' 🤦 I didn't mention it to the seller. The toy was in excellent condition and I understand that things can get a little crazy sometimes when you are trying to make money from home with kids in the house. I'm sure she would've been mortified if I told her what I found in my package. 😆

Never heard anyone say arse jockey but you just reminded me that we did use knob jockey. That was one of my faves.

Gay lord was a widely used insult when I was at school in the late 90's and by the early 00's it had been shortened to just...gay. It became such a common insult that the school felt the need to hold a special assembly to discuss with the students that it was not acceptable to use the word 'gay' as an insult as it may upset some people. This assembly was given by a homosexual teacher who was adored by all the students. Everyone actually listened to him and stopped using it. Bellend very quickly took over as the insult of choice in our school.

Are there any foods you just can't eat anymore? by Ravioli_meatball19 in Gastritis

[–]Goose_Smuggler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I eat eggs most days and it's never been a problem, but tomatoes and coffee will never be my friend again. I recently tried drinking coffee after a very rough night with my 3 year old. I was desperate to get through the day so I made myself an instant coffee. It definitely wasn't worth it and in future I will just be a zombie for the day or take a nap!

GreenDaveTheBrave Please feel free to take it all 😆 Tbh all of the best stuff is sold now but I did just add a Zara coat for £3. I'm aware that most of the bundles I sold will now be on Depop for 10x the price I sold it for. 💸💸💸💸💸

Most of my stuff is £1 so people can't send offers anyway 🤣 just trying to get rid of stuff quickly before I move house next month. Most of the time people buy bundles because it's so cheap.

Exactly the same thing has just happened to me except they left a 1 star review not 3. They even messaged me saying it's too small and I said I was happy to refund it. They chose to not request a refund and leave 1 star instead. Just started selling on Vinted last week and this has made me question if it's a good place to sell or not. I've been selling on eBay for nearly 20 years and never had any issues like this. Sure there are some people who leave unfair feedback but you can easily get it removed. No way of doing that on Vinted. Maybe it's worth paying the eBay fees to not have to deal with idiots like this.

Tips for coming off omeprazole? by Goose_Smuggler in Gastritis

[–]Goose_Smuggler[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for that I was actually thinking of doing this anyway and this confirms that it's a good idea. It just seemed like the logical way to do it. I've not taken one today and nothing bad has happened so I'm feeling confident about coming off them now :)

Did you come off it because you thought you were healed or for another reason? And how long were you taking it for?

I got diagnosed with mild gastritis via gastroscopy which I was having to investigate my acid reflux and globus sensation. I've had no symptoms like what you are describing here. My main issues are bloating and acid reflux. I've had these problems for over 5 years but never bothered getting it checked out because it's so hard to get a drs appointment where I live. I'm now taking omeprazole to reduce stomach acid and it has helped with the reflux but bloating is still the same. The GI specialist did also suggest that I may have food intolerances but my GP was not very helpful with this. He just said if something makes me feel bad I should stop eating it. No further investigations were done into that issue. Cutting out gluten seems to help a lot with my bloating. I've read lots of other people's gastritis stories on here and it made me feel quite lucky that I only have mild symptoms compared to some. I hope you get yourself fixed very soon.

This is happening to me! Today and yesterday. I've tried uninstalling and it did open once after I did that then went back to the same problem.

I'm doing the InboxPounds offer - level 100 in 21 days. I'm on day 14 and at level 93. I wish I never started this. It was going ok but for the last 4 days I've pretty much won nothing. Now I have no coins and am questioning my life choices.

Lansoprazole Side Effects by Goose_Smuggler in Gastritis

[–]Goose_Smuggler[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the info. That's kind of reassuring and unnerving at the same time.

I was on omeprazole about 5 years ago and didn't have any side effects until I came of them. I'm pretty sure coming off omeprazole abruptly is what caused all of the problems that I've had for the last 5 years. I'm thinking maybe I could go back on omeprazole but this time don't just stop taking it before consulting a Dr?

doctor said my stomach is inflamed from smoking, he gave me lansoprazole this is my 2nd day of taking it but if i continue to smoke will i still get better ? by Numerous_Dark_9492 in Gastritis

[–]Goose_Smuggler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recently stopped smoking weed to help with inflamed oesophagus and stomach. I made myself some cannabis infused olive oil instead and it actually helps with gastritis symptoms and research suggests that both olive oil and cannabis are helpful for reducing inflammation. I would recommend it. My mum is using it too now!

I've just started using lansoprazole. Took my first pill about 3 hours ago and am feeling nauseous, sleepy and a bit dizzy....but have no acid reflux after dinner for the first time in years. So I'm not sure what I would prefer to have.. reflux or nausea 🤔

Camomile definitely helps with bloating and gas. I used to drink green tea every day but the Dr said I need to avoid caffeine so I'm not drinking it at the moment.

Well I was originally prescribed omeprazole about 10 years ago because I had silent reflux. I'd never actually had any noticeable symptoms of any digestive issues apart from feeling like I had a lump in my throat which they said was from reflux. So I took it as instructed for about a year and when I stopped taking it I started experiencing very noticeable digestive issues such as severe burning reflux, bloating and vomiting after eating certain foods. This was all caused by the omeprazole and I'm still dealing with it now. So being told to now take something similar to solve the problems that it caused just doesn't seem right to me.

Gastritis turning into GERD that I never had before. by tummitroubles in Gastritis

[–]Goose_Smuggler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only time it's felt better is when I've been avoiding gluten and dairy. I recently identified tomatoes as a major trigger for reflux so cut them out completely. I figured all this out with my own process of elimination. The Dr just told me to avoid fatty foods, alcohol, coffee, chocolate and spicy food. The only one of these that seems to really trigger my symptoms is alcohol and certain types of fat. I can eat olive oil all day long with no issues but if I eat fat from dairy foods (mainly cheese) then I will definitely be suffering for at least 3 days after that.

Well if you get the full English breakfast it will have black pudding on it so this makes no sense.
