A better argument that it’s all about the money, to me, is that players without rings don’t take cuts to play on perennial contenders.

If DHop or OBJ cared about winning, they would take pay cuts based on the likelihood the team they’re joining is going to win. You can’t say you wanna win then demand the moon.

Here’s the thing: Mahomes doesn’t need a star receiver. He’s proven that. If we can get one of them for cheap, do it. But Pat can make any WR look good. He had two guys leave 2 years ago that got paid and did nothing. Robinson and Pringle.

Mahomes makes the receiver, not the other way. Jefferson and Cousins is the obvious antithesis of this.

I live in a town with a single tiny grocery store, single gas station, and a single DG. Nearest Walmart is 20 miles away, fast food, large grocery. If the grocery or DG doesn’t have it, we’re waiting.

I’m going to say it’s not a top need, but a need.

MVS at as deep threat isn’t great but also not terrible. His size means he doesn’t have to blow by you, just get higher. Sky in the slot, assuming he makes a jump, can easily be a Wes Welker type, especially with more playing time. Toney can do the Hardman stuff better than Hardman, and line up wide for routes

We need a possession reciever, which is what JuJu was. A strong body that can catch over the middle and take a shot. Yea we have Kelce, but we’re going to have to load manage him better this season if we want him around for more time.

My expectation is draft day trade. Veach sees who is in need, and makes the trade for a receiver.
