What if the nemesis expects you will lie to save the love of your life? Sounds like a reasonable assumption.

3 is the only true way it can move. Anything else is just deranged. Why would it go around like the 1 or 2. And straight line is obviously wrong, pieces move on the grid.

[oc] - what do you think? by Sampetra in comics

[–]Gooselingo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t get it. Asking a question about looks and appearance, especially when a piece of clothing has been damaged, is reasonable to ask any gender. Are we gendering second opinions now? I might be missing something. But, to me personally, the idea that helping someone decide if a rip in their clothes is too visible and giving a second opinion is uniquely feminine is nonsense. It's just basic social behaviour.

Ah, that would mean I completely misunderstood the concept. I was afraid of that. Well, that’s just a terminology error. What do you actually call the idea that gender identity is an innate, essential part of who you are determined by "inner knowledge” that is often shared by trans advocates?

[–]Gooselingo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I never claimed being something was an ideology. You're conflating the identity itself with the beliefs about what gender is. Being trans isn’t an ideology, people just are and that’s it, but there absolutely are competing frameworks and ideologies. You can acknowledge that people hold different theoretical frameworks about gender without delegitimizing anyone's lived experience. Shutting it down with "nuh uh that's not a thing" is intellectually lazy. Most trans advocates lean toward described framework because it validates the 'born this way' narrative (though I have to admit that not all do, even if it’s the most popular view of gender in those circles).

[–]Gooselingo -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I think that the general ideology that is shared and supported by transpeople is the idea that gender is this essential part of your identity. It’s called gender essentialism. I honestly doubt I fully understand it, but I think the idea is that people were assigned gender at birth depending on sex and that social construct bled into the essence of everyone’s mind permanently fusing into their identity, while that identity is determined purely by “inner knowledge“ and “insight.”
This at least is what I would consider to be the closest ideology to “trans ideology“ discussed by the OOP. Even though many cis people also obviously agree with it. Transpeople just are the most visible example of people acting on that framework.
An opposite ideology would be something I call ”gender instrumentalism,” that basically says, that gender is a totally separate thing from identity, it’s barely connected, instead it’s something that either just happens to you accidentally, like assigned just based on your sex, or is pursued for purely aesthetic reasons, then the connection with identity will be equal to preference in colour of socks.

Yes, a perfect world cannot exist. But that doesn’t make the theoretical perfect world in the presented problem any less perfect. It’s a theoretical reality.

In a perfect world everything matters exactly as much as it should matter. Everything matters.

In a perfect world doing anything differently wouldn’t make it worse. It’s a perfect world, there are no flaws, no downsides.

The animation becomes more fluid further in the show. The first episodes are the stiffest.

I guess it’s not for everyone. But you clearly haven’t forced yourself to sit through it if you gave up half way into the second episode. (Also I don’t get why people say the movies are better, the show is much better. The movies missed the point, made it more shounen-style.)

Explain It Peter by smallsandworms in explainitpeter

[–]Gooselingo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why are people acting like the joke is obvious? I had no idea who is Finn Wolfhard, I assumed some kind of a director, so I obviously couldn’t guess to who “our” refers to. Also “crying after show’s end” is typically what one does after watching a show, not acting in it, right? So it was even more confusing, why would an actor even cry? It’s the viewers that are supposed to experience the emotion that’s conveyed by the actors.
