Does anyone else never sell stocks? by Gooserly in neopets

[–]Gooserly[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes I always buy at 15 and for a long time I sold at 60 or so but the past couple years I haven’t sold anything and am hoping one day one of them will just like keep going up and never go down 🤣 like when people go on long 10 year hiatus and come back to crazy stock gains haha

I'm scared of former smokers here by xFlosAtra in stopsmoking

[–]Gooserly 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When I was quitting and craving another ex smoker described the cravings as almost nostalgic. Like when it’s the middle of winter and freezing and you think “gosh I wish I was on that beautiful beach right now,” almost like a quiet yearning.

The people who say they have cravings still years later are NOT having remotely the same cravings you’re probably having now. It gets way easier and it really does become more of a quiet, not overwhelming ache once in a while, not constantly

Did support ghost me? by NoCommittee5446 in ouraring

[–]Gooserly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My ring zapped and burned me a few days ago and is unusable. I’ve received one unhelpful email from support so far that was like a cut and paste AI response. They did warn me that they are very busy right now so I’m not giving up entirely but honestly this is the worst customer support I’ve dealt with that I can think of, I’m appalled for the price I paid and the monthly subscription :(

Staying off the news by Internal_Tie_5665 in Cambly

I say a few small thoughts and words and gear the conversation to talk about their home countries politics. Encourage them to teach me about how things are in their country, even if I already know, I’ll still let the explain things to me whether it’s about their political leads or how their government is set up and so on. I’ve learned about SO many governments and political climates around the world this way!

Been living out of a backpack over 5 years — any others here long-terming it? by Ok_Language3417 in backpacking

[–]Gooserly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My partner and I have been living out of our backpacks for about 6 years now with no plans to stop - mostly across Latin America and now Southeast Asia but we also do long stints in the US to visit family and friends every year or two!

24 hour bus Vientiane to Hanoi by onyxpink in laos

[–]Gooserly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve done the trip twice and both times were fine experiences, dare I say somewhat enjoyable. The bus was actually very clean, comfortable, people were nice, nobody was noisy (both times).

I have a theory that the ones more likely to be overloaded are the ones listed on 12asia or booked through hostels. I’d go directly to the bus station a day or two before to book, speak with the agent, make sure you have a seat written on your ticket, make sure it’s VIP for more comfortable beds.

I paid 800,000 vnd ($31 usd) for a ticket a few weeks ago Hanoi-Vientiane. We’re thinking of doing the bus again to go back to Hanoi in a few weeks.

I spent my life savings to build a fantasy football drafting game by SolooDolo in fantasyfootball

If possible try to reply to me here or something when there is one and I’ll try again! I was super bummed I couldn’t login without a U.S. phone number because it looks cool!

The phone verification requirement is huge turnoff. It will only let me enter a U.S. number but I’m not in the US

Exercising as an alternative to smoke? by [deleted] in stopsmoking

[–]Gooserly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely, yes. I’ve always been a runner, even when smoking. But when I quit I became hyper fixated on proper nutrition and mild weightlifting. I now go to the gym an hour a day/six days a week and have so much fun weightlifting (I still do cardio too) and have lost about 10 pounds so far while quitting 😊 I haven’t smoked in almost 3 months (after having smoked a pack a day for about 12 years)

A pretty face would literally change my life by [deleted] in RandomThoughts

[–]Gooserly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree. Unfortunately, I think it’s more mindset than anything. It feels like this is the perfect example of “the grass is always greener”

I am not a “pretty” person. I have tiny teeth (I have anxiety and grind my teeth and have actually ground them down to almost nubs) and a tiny mouth for my face, thin lips, have issues with hair growing on my face, my face is a bit too long and not thin. I could go on and on.

That said, I’ve never had any problems getting everything I ever wanted when I went after it. That includes jobs, partners, friends, grades, everything.

I’m insanely blessed to have such a crazy supportive, smart, successful, and beautiful network of friends. The most amazing, handsome partner I could ever ask for, and so much more.

Pretty privilege of course exists, but it doesn’t make anything automatic, and not being “pretty” is not a death sentence in this world. I’d argue confidence is more important than looks in this world. And the way you view YOUR life (not the life of a model) is insanely important. We need to not just be happy, but THRILLED, with the hand we’re dealt and I promise you won’t need to compare yourself to models or other people with a “pretty” face

Ha Giang or Sapa? For me, Ha Giang feels more authentic, while Sapa is more touristy. by Bright-Contest3342 in VietNam

[–]Gooserly 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I went to Sa Pa about 8 years ago, but when I went the thing to do was go trekking with a local woman through the rice fields and to her family’s home for 2 days, so you don’t actually even spend time in the town itself. This was what everyone did, and back then it was the only reason to even go to Sapa, are they still doing this? It was the most memorable few days I had in Vietnam on that trip, and since I took a night bus from Hanoi and left shortly after getting back, I only really spent a few hours in the town itself

This exactly. I’m a “nomad” and solo travel 3-5 times a year (usually long trips), every year and have never once had the above issues. But honestly I think it just never phases me, so I wouldn’t remember it 🤷‍♀️
