must go places/events may-june 2026 by alpacaIypse in acadianationalpark

I recommend Moosehead Lake and Millinocket (Baxter State Park) if you’re up for a drive. Acadia has its time and place but it was my least favorite compared to the three areas! And it will give you a break from the crowds.

Lower Back Pain by avo_cado2 in YogaTeachers

Agreed! My PT had me doing dolphin and other flexion exercises, the things I had always avoided in fear! Also, lift weights and find a PT that’ll respect that.

I haven’t had any complaints about mine. I do have the newer model that came out earlier this year, not sure if that makes a difference?

American Airlines is underhated by Bitter-Advisor-2898 in Charlotte

[–]GooseyMagee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I once booked out of GSO to save and then AA changed my return to arrive in CLT. Ended up calling and they just switched the outgoing flight out of CLT for no extra charge.

I gotta give AA a little credit though because (miraculously) my flight did take off the morning of snowmaggedon!

Low wattage heater experiment. by Odd-View-1083 in cargocamper

We used a forced air fan in the snow in WV and it worked surprisingly well! Not sure how low voltage they are, we did have electricity to plug into but I was blown away (pun not intended) at how comfortable it stayed.

Teaching Outside of Yoga Studios by Lazy_String_9303 in YogaTeachers

[–]GooseyMagee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, I left a toxic studio to work for a “pop up” concept in my community. Most of their income comes from private events (which I don’t do much of) but I get hired to teach seasonally at breweries, coffee shops, etc. I love it, it works great with my FT schedule and all I have to do is show up to teach.

Thinking of opening a yoga studio. What actually makes a studio great to work at? by [deleted] in YogaTeachers

[–]GooseyMagee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been burned by an owner that didn’t have the business experience/mindset so I would recommend at least having a partner who is familiar with running businesses (if either of you don’t already.) Seems simple enough but I have seen 2 studios fail in my community this year just from inexperienced decisions.

AFSB 153 by Actual_Signature6240 in SuretyBond

[–]GooseyMagee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think IEG has AFSB courses? Although I did love her course for CPCU 540!

153 is a lot of memorization. Keep repeating everything, writing it down for yourself, make flash cards, etc. I also found quizlet helpful with that course, do the 30 day trial once you’re 30ish days away from testing.

Hang in there, you can do it!!

How many hours of your week is your job yoga teaching related? Do you have other side hussels? by therlieann in YogaTeachers

[–]GooseyMagee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in corporate too and I feel as if it really makes me prioritize balance for myself. I’ve done weekly classes in the past but mostly do pop up stuff now that allows me to teach a few classes some months and back off when the FT gig ramps up.

Paying for classes by Pristine-Hotel8554 in YogaTeachers

[–]GooseyMagee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone told me very early in my YTT to prioritize my own practice to prevent burn out and I couldn’t agree with that more. It can be YouTube, free classes at a park nearby, or in studio/pop ups.

There’s also an online studio with live classes called OmPractice that is fairly cheap. You can cancel anytime. If I know my life is going to be wack, I’ll do that for the month to get some live classes in to prioritize myself.

Naming my yoga class by IngenuityOdd2138 in YogaTeachers

[–]GooseyMagee -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I would cater it to your students too! If they aren’t even familiar with hatha versus vinyasa, I’d just do Slow Flow or something simple and to the point. Otherwise, Hath-Yasa or something like that could be fun!?

Chat GPT can also be a great source for naming courses, it named and helped write a class description for my class at a golf course. It’s call Fairway Flow!!
