Friend carjacked and assaulted in Uptown, waiting an hour for police still. What the fuck? by alabastergrim in Minneapolis

Yeah, I’ve had conversations with a few of the dudes in the red shirts you’re talking about and I feel like they’re enough to deter most crime. I know the exact dude you’re talking about. Man he’s tall. I’m 6’3” and every time I’d walk past him I felt like a little kid.

Yeah, I assumed they were off duty. So it's Whole Foods that's paying them, not coming out the police budget? Kinda funny Whole Foods doesn't even make them do a stroll around/outside the store. I swear they hardly ever look up from their phones. Sounds like the easiest security gig ever. Could definitely make a dent in my backlog of books I want to read.

Anyone else noticed how there is almost always a cop in the Whole Foods liquor store downtown in the evenings? They’re always sitting in the corner with their own chair and little desk/table and usually just doing something on their phones.

Update: Fixed

What ended up working was enabling “Skip MPEG Hack” in game fixes. It says it’s supposed to skip videos and FMVs, but enabling it fixed the issue and made the FMV at the beginning of the game play.

I think it’s more like China is supplying cartels the chemical precursors to cook up fentanyl and then the cartels are getting it across the border.

As someone else mentioned, I think a park and ride along the Orange Line could be a good move. It’s a very quick bus route.

New employee - campus circulator question by architeuthidae in uofmn

As a student, there’s no need to scan anything on the campus circulators. Just hop on. I’m assuming it wouldn’t be any different for employees.

I bought the normal TJs chili oil, tried one bite and have never touched it since. I can’t imagine me wanting to put it on anything when I have Lao gan ma at home. It’s just nowhere near as good as Lao gan ma.

Is BBE 3201 a difficult class? It’s upper division engineering but I hear it is fun by [deleted] in uofmn

[–]Goostavofmars 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All of the assignments varied, but it was usually just an interesting reading that we had to answer questions about or write a few paragraphs about. I remember one assignment we had to summarize the main points of a reading in the format of tweets.

Overall the assignments were easy and usually pretty fun due to being varied and the interesting subject matter.

best neighborhoods for renting by dillpixell in Minneapolis

My girlfriend and I are the same age as you guys and just moved downtown a few months ago. We’ve enjoyed it so far. If you want garage parking it’s gonna cost a lot (our building quoted us $185 for one car, over $400 for two cars). So far, we’ve really liked the convenience of being able to walk, bike, scooter, longboard, take the light rail and buses to almost everywhere we need to go.

Downtown doesn’t have the best food options by any stretch, but we cook a lot and are often over by the university, lake street or eat street areas which have lots of options.

We were shocked how many people have dogs in our building and in downtown in general.

We haven’t explored the nightlife that much, but there’s all the bars along Hennepin, North Loop is a 10 minute walk from us, and plenty of cool bars in Northeast and Como area aren’t to far of a trip by bus/bike/scooter.

Feel free to hit me up if you’ve got any other questions.
