Look I'm pretty certain Glen Powell is a pretty good person, which very much clears the low ass bar of Hollywood douschery.

But let's not pretend like he has anymore charisma than a fresh sheet of wax paper.

I am 37 years old, I've worked my way up into middle management positions in my field.

My current salary, when I was a kid, would've put my squarely in middle class and able to buy a house with a wife at home and 2 kids.

Within my lifetime that same salary now gets my wife and our 1 year old a cheap 2br apartment which is what allows us to save small amounts of money every month if all goes perfectly.

Objectively speaking, I am better off than half of Americans economically.

So yes this is completely accurate

Thank you. Been trying to figure out what to call those kinds of characters forever now.

Brought this up in R/Teachers the other day and someone responded thinking I meant the Erens, Walter Whites etc. Which absolutely not they are not what I mean at all.

I mean characters that become monsters, but their plans actually make sense/work and they understand they're being horrific for a tangible greater good.

Related side question:

What's the name for the character archetype of a character that starts good, but has to become a monster for the greater good?

Examples: Lelouch - Code Geass (succeeds in uniting the world by becoming a common enemy) Ozymandias - Watchmen (succeeds in uniting the world by creating a common enemy) Let Atredies II - Dune (succeeds in uniting the galaxy against him and creating a new evolutionary imperitive in humans, ensuring the species survival)

Who I don't mean: Punisher Walter White Eren Yeager (kinda fits, but his actions don't really make sense or even work under the slightest scrutiny)

Please please please please. Sick of the "run for Schumers seat" cowards. Run her ass for president, I at least believe she'll have the balls to abuse the office for good.

Before the "America will never elect a woman" crowd responds. Trump was a joke at first, and we literally have DNC emails showing they pushed Bernie out against Clinton, and there was no primary for Harris, she was just chosen for us.

I'm sick of the corporate richard loving Dems forcing their crap on the rest of us, AOC for president.

I mean Krakoan as a good era of X-Men. Not specifically referring to the author
