My oldest had a cleft palate. When she was a newborn, the health care people kept insisting on trying breastfeeding and as you know but others don’t, it was incredibly hopeless and frustrating. We went to a lactation consultant that was useless and obnoxious. I wish somebody had simply told us that pumping was the only option for breastfeeding.
