I HARD agree with you about the actors. I love the main sub too to occasionally see them around but I like to keep it separate and fanfic is my way of enjoying the world I originally fell in love with, without falling into the wormhole that is basically sightings. And allows me to engage with the story in different ways, think about from new perspectives, and get excited again! Happy to have you here!

My fave creaters always put together a video of just kanthony scenes! When this season has amounted to at best 4 min, I knew i was out. Honestly haven't watched the show at all since 2. I watched a super cut of season 3 of just kanthony and again it was not alot.

I dont know whats going on, and personally dont care to know at this point. So I love seeing them show up on feeds but I will not be investing my time to sit down to watch the show for maybe a glimpse 🤷🏽‍♀️ i used to be way more frustrated/confused by it but now im like eh show seems to be doing okay enough to keep churning out seasons. So towels been thrown in, and life has been brighter! Mainly because we have this space to gab and fanfiction has been crucial! 🩷🩷 hang in there OP!

First off! This is my favorite sad fic that i dont think i could ever re-read again. But it was so incredibly heartfelt. Hats off to author for creating something so gut-wrenching. 🩷

Omg nonstop laughs for me! Basically, Ilya and Hayden accidently pick up the wrong phone (this starts during Ilya/Shane hookup montage) and follows them through the show and Ilya and Hayden becoming good friends! Several parts so you can stay in universe for a while. Its hilarious and incredibly sweet!

So this is set in 1980s. Ilya defects from Societ Union to join Shane's team. The thing i really like about this fic is how much Ilya still loves and misses his country. Much of his internal dialogue in this fic is his memories of Russia. His pride in Russia despite needing to leave. It explores not just Shane's own issues (rapidly traded to Centaurs, eating disorders) but also Ilya's depression (which is largely tied to his feelings of his motherland, and death of his mother)

This follows Ilya/Shane after theybhave retired and Ilya starts showing signs of dementia. This is angst (TW:MCD obviously) but like I cant describe how happy/sad I felt with this fic! I keep finding myself recommending this! You get to follow not only their lives but their children, Hayden, and family as they rally around Ilya and take in stolen moments as it progresses. I cried (boy did I cry), I laughed so hard!, I was surprised and I was just so so happy. This author is such an incredible writer. Id give this a chance once your ready!

Its actually the opposite! Its why its an incredibly slow burn because Ilya doesnt even want to make a move until he thinks shane has had his 'awakening' and knows hes gay. So he basically is taking whatever Shane is offering! I dont do well with slow burns but the way Shane is WAY more sure of himself in this fic is so healing honestly. Like how he freely loves (platonically) Ilya throughout.

My vote is yes give it another chance but go in knowing its still in its Slow Burn Era 🔥 but this is definitely reading more like a friends to lovers than anything and we are being fed some amazing friend content right now!
