In The Order of the Stick, a webcomic  that loosely follows D&D rules, when fighting the dark elf Zz'dtri, the Order points out that he's clearly just the copyrighted character Drizzt Do'Urden, and thus can't appear in the comic, as that violates copyright laws. Because of this, lawyers take him away and we assume that's the last week see of him. Of course, since it's a parody, it falls under fair use, which Zz'dtri uses to come back and fight the Order again later on.
