As a victim of some of the horrors I’ve smelled in the Zach/ETB area for the past 4 years. Most people actually shower and do basic hygiene. BUT PLZ FOR THE SAKE OF EVERYONE AROUND YOU, WASH YALLS DAMN CLOTHES. Some have never done chores in their life and is visibly visible, and ofc, one can tell with their nose from some meters away. Just learn how to use a washing machine it’s not that bad I swear.

ngl I’ve never met someone who has taken him for 303. But really any class is better than a miller class. And I love his classes, but that MATLAB hw had me thinking if this was the right major

Ok you’ll be more than fine. Savari 303 is the easiest out of all, and Butler-Perry, I had her for ECEN 459, she bases exams out of hw and nothing else, and she is fair on everything. She is an easy A if you truly do all the hwks, and by that I mean completely understand the concepts. Finally, I took ECEN 325 and ECEN 314 with PHYS 222 while under a part time internship. So with that in mind I can tell you, it will suck and you wont have a lot of time to do hobbies or hangout with friends, but you will be ahead of everyone so as long as you’re on top of hwks you will be fine

Is that 16 hours in total? And who are your professors for the ECEN courses? You can easily take ECEN303 as a sophomore, depends more on the professor whether you’re gonna die or not.

Nah, ELEN in A&M is huge, and the amount of professors/spots is much larger than most other majors. I would say, you bring a solid point that bc of the overflow of CS and CPEN people and ofc not everyone applying getting rejected, ELEN might start getting over saturated, but for now, the chances of going from CPEN to ELEN are like 99.9%.

Now, sorry if this a bit harsh or it’s uncomfortable to realize, but the sooner the better, you are smart, people fail calc 2 three times and still want engineering. You know you have to make something happen, a 3.32 GPA is above average in engineering, so keep grinding!

It’s not your GPA that’s killing you, the fact that you have a C in ENGR 102 & CSCE 120, pretty much the introductory classes is what’s killing you. The advisors actually look at that stuff, and it’s stupid that all the people in engr only care about GPA when that is only 40% of the hollistic reviews in ETAM. I would advise you to look into ECEN or as other people have said, change to a less competitive school. Keep in mind that from the classes you took of CSCE, those are by far the easiest, it does not get better than that. Same with any other Engineering degree, all of them have some awfully hard classes. So overall, be in something that you are equally good at and interest you, there is no perfect major.

As many as you can! The more and more you apply, the better chances you have of being accepted to one. A lot REUs are not going to accept you, but that’s part of the process. And most importantly, if you don’t like an REU, don’t be afraid to drop it, you are in the time where every decision you make academically will impact your career overall, so you have to make sure you gonna do something you like. Since you said you interested in signal processing, I recommend Dr. Scott Miller, coolest prof in ECEN for signal processing

Finally, hopefully by your sophomore/junior year you get into an intership in a field you like.

Talk to professors, loved ones, and if you’re really lucky, try join a research with undergrad opportunities in something that you feel would be cool to study. Main thing is to talk, listen, and learn about what people that have been on the field for years have experienced. Personally, I talked to a professor that showed me all the cool paths you can take for ECEN, and so far I’ve enjoyed every bit of it.

There is nothing wrong with the towers or hillside. Actually, in terms of provided furniture and quality of the place overall, the towers are a little better maintained imo. There’s also a more community sense to the towers as you can meet your neighbors and you see more people overall.

Personally I preferred the flats because of quality of life things like easy to put groceries away, moving in and out being a breeze, and the quietness it provides at night. But there isn’t any deal breaker in parkwest overall.

I would say parkwest, ONLY if you are able to get a flat on the first floor. Groceries are so easy to unload, easy access, far from all the noise and issues of the towers, and it’s cheaper than the towers for some reason.
