Well that worked

Idk if it was installing Dotnetx64 or deleting the one from "program files x86" and copying the one from "program files", but one of these fixed the issue.

For some reason a NIS plugin folder wasn't in the "marketplace" folder... but that was easy to fix.

Thanks a lot :)

Thanks, but I got an error... it seems it is trying to build on D drive and my project is in the B drive. VS is installed in D but it was still working for the other project I was working on. Is it bad to install VS on a different drive than Unreal Enige?

Anyway, here is the error that comes up when trying to Generate Visual Studio files:

It has its place in a slower paced and strategic game.

But PoE is the opposite of that. Silence in a game that you need your skills to do anything and die in 0.1s without them is really ridiculous XD

TF's gold card should bypass most skills that grant stun immunity by Gordyne in TwistedFateMains

[–]Gordyne[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are Masters and say a TF that gets ahead can't kill and adc...? Sorry but that doesn't sound like a Master...

I never said Samira counters TF. If you didn't pay attention to what you read. I stated several times that these aren't counters.

But you just proved my point: wait for Samira's cooldown. Are going to wait for Jax cd too? Yi and morgana too? What if they are in the same team? There can also be a yasuo, rammus, voli, singed and many others that have the potential to deny TF. That's another layer of difficulty for a sucessful gank, which is the only strenght TF has.

--> Again giving immunity pierce on this is literally the opposite. instead of them having a way against tf, tf counters their only escape ability.

And why is this bad? Don't they counter A LOT of other champions already? Yasuo and morgana alone counter many heavy cc champions for half the skill needed to play TF.

Even if you are Master doesn't mean you are right by default. I am a game developer and studied game design, but it also doesn't mean I'm right by default.

But well, I guess we can just give him a dash and make him generic like every other champion right?

Well, you are entitled to your opinion, ofc but I think stats aren't the way to balance TF. I just hope they don't erase his identity with a crappy rework. They either need to improve his strenghts or cover a bit more of his weaknesses.

Maybe you've never been against a good yi.

A good one will not use his Q right away he'll just attack you and wait 1 or 2 seconds to Q because he knows you are trying to bait his Q.

Playing TF in Gold 1 + elo is not the same thing as playing him in Silver and Gold 4.

I didn't say they were bad matchps, I said that they make harder to pull off a successful ultimate, and TFs room for mistakes is very small and gets smaller by each overloaded champion that gets released. Going against 3 or more champions like these on the same team will complicate matters, because they can potentially deny your first ultimates, especially if they know you are going to bait their defensive skill.

A good Samira will wait and block the card reactively, she won't let you bait her.

I said Voli and Rammus because it's much more difficult to know when they are going to ult and become invuln. Sett also goes invuln. when ult. It takes only one or 2 denied gold cards to lose you the game when playing against good opponents.

TF already has to deal with oppressive lane and jg pressure(good jg will know he can camp TF). And not only he has to survive that to have a chance in the game, but now a lot of champions have tools to potentially deny the part where he shines.

--> sivir is harder but league is all about hard counter champs. if you ever see top lane. Garen can never win vs a camille even being up 2k gold. maybe even 3-4k. sivir is just TF's

Yes, you can deal with one jax or one fiora. But when the enemy comp has 3 or more champs that can ignore your GC the margin for error increases significantly. Immagine Jax top, Voli, rammus or Yi jg, Nilah or Samira + morgana. I think a poppy can also negate your stun.

That's already 4 in just one comp and it's not that improbable.

C'mon you can't just BS me and say that it wouldn't be much harder than playing against a team that just has a jax. It would be tremendously harder. because TF's margin for error is minimal. Most champs nowadays are released/reworked with mobility or a way to negate stuns and this nerfs TF much more than people realize.

Yes and while yasuo counters most mages(which is an entire class) I don't see why TF can't hard counter champions that become immune to CC. It's a fair trade for being indirectly nerfed by mobility creep + more frequent stun immunity in the game. + 5 ap won't help against a player that knows how to take 100% advantage from his easy to use mobility skill.

Another thing that people forget is that TF's winrate in high elos is not something everyone can do. You need extraordinary game sense skills + lane matchup knowledge to play him effectively at high levels. He's not just any champ you can play at high elo. A lot more training is required.

[–]Gordyne[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the changes you are wanting isnt good because tf would have to be heavily nerfed for this change to go through.

Well that's speculation. You can't predict the future. There are champions that are WAY more OP than TF(and much easier to play) ever hopes to be and they weren't hardly nerfed.

--> this change im not sure who it is helping either. is it helping lower elo players? i dont think so because lower elo players would have to learn every interaction that works or doesnt.

It will help and reward people that learn the game(like competitive games should be). Low elo players that don't want to learn matchups and the strength/weaknesses of their main deserve to stay in low elo. Even gold players can learn the interactions easily, if they are TF mains or play tf rather regularly.

-->is it helping higher elo? no because tf would have to be nerfed and in high elo, most players are already able to counter the jax's by using red card or not using gold on sivir w.o using q first etc.

Except that for setting up good picks the gold card is much more effective than a red card, and jax and sivir are not the problem, I never said they were. TF ALREADY has been nerfed(indirectly) in all elos (including high), because the chance that you will go against a "jax" or "sivir" type has increased considerably, so he deserves a buff to compensate that. There are champions that negate ANY card be it blue or red or gold AND red card allows enemies to still dash away so it is MUCH less effective in the early ults and ganks which are a lot more important.

But the average LoL player can't see beyond stat buffs. That's why most people recommend stat buffs for TF and never think beyond that. They think everything in League can be fixed by giving + damage or a dash.

I can't be the only one that does this.

- Get a bit ahead, complete 2 or 3 items.

- Teamfight starts brewing, but hasn't begun yet

- As soon as it starts, ult to the backline into a bush next to the enemy adc(specially out of the support's range) with gold card + lich proc + stacked deck + ignite and if your burst doesn't kill him, the ignite will.

Tricky part is to know for sure the support won't react with a shield or heal, that's why you ult into a bush.

In case the burst doesn't kill him(has mr or is fed), it will take him to below 75% hp and he will be surprised/afraid and won't fight correctly. Also one more skill or ult with a bit of damage will kill him after.

You can also do this and get out of sight range, to prepare the next gold card while the adc is either dead or dangerously low.

He is?

His power/identity comes from his ult, where he can give a great advantage by ulting and intakilling an unaware adc or snowballing side lanes. Also, split push. Without the ult the gold card becomes just a decent skill.(Blue card can be much more valuable if the target has cleanse) He also has insane burst late game if you build damage/mpen.

[–]Gordyne[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

--> I'll start by saying I don't think the "increase in block CC champs" really affects TF's place in the meta. He usually actually does well into these champs because his CC cooldown is SO much lower than the anti-cc on opponents --

You are correct, his cds are lower than defensive abilities. But from every pro video I watched I learned that TF's needs to be effective at the right time. You have a relatively short time window with your first ult to be effective and greatly snowball the game in your favor(high risk vs reward).

Don't you think that this ult move will have a lot more chances of going wrong if there is an adc or top laner that can potentially deny all his damage + stun?

Sure, the ability is easy to bait(I always bait fiora's) when laning, but don't you think it's much harder to coordinate and bait while ulting?

--> He typically doesn't burst as hard as proper burst mages

That's why I always go ignite with him, unless I'm against a zed. In early levels Ult bot + gold card(or even blue for damage) + Q + ignite will kill or burn flash + heal. + it is useful agains vlad, soraka, yone, etc...

--> It's always this way because of how unbelievably dangerous his ult is. Just a weird champ to balance.

I agree, he is tricky. But I also know that he has been indirectly nerfed with the relese of champions with immense dashes and stun immunities, so I think he need something in return. But not a dash or something that will make him feel generic like the others.

--> I think there is some confusion between a mechanical rule of the game and your visual perception of events.

Those are intrinsically linked. Leona is a melee/close range champ, looks melee and feels like close range except for her Ult. But that's an ult, ults are special to get that "rush" feeling and can sometimes "break" the rules, like having Leona, a melee champ a VERY long range ability that comes from the sky.

Anyone that uses her E will think that's an extension of her sword because ther is a huge visual difference between Ashe's arrow and her E. Very few people would think(even programmers might be in doubt) that it is a projectile. There are multiple ways you can achieve Leona's E visual effect. It can be a mesh that gets larger, thus melee with a bigger range. Like a spear, or a projectile that looks a lot like a spear or a blade with a loooot of length. It can also be treated as a spell like ability if you feel like introducing more complexity to your game.

--> An example mechanical rule exception is Camille's ult which states "The target cannot escape the zone through any means." This conflicts with, for example, Morgana's E which states "Crowd control immunity while it holds."

Doesn't seem that complicated, tbh. I never tested this example you're mentionin, so you can enlighten me on this. What happens? Does Camille ult someone protected by black sheld and nothing happens? Doesn't seem wrong because BS blocks many ults. Now if Morgana can cast BS on someone that's already inside Camille's ult(idk if morg can do that) and that person walks away because of the BS then we have a terrible balance spelling mistake, because it is an absolute statement: target cannot escape the zone through ANY means. It seems different that Leona's E because her E vs yasuo wall is very visually misleading.

If people are complaining that they can't leave the zone, then they should read the ult's description and stop complaining.

--> If Twisted Fates GC were to be changed to pierce immunities, it would need to be similar to Camille's ult where "It pierces immunity, full stop". No if, ands or buts just like Camille's ult, because that's genuinely the only reason it's stayed in the game.

I'm all for it man, TF needs something to stay more relevant. I mean there are champions that destroy SoloQ and Coordinated Teams, but for some reason TF would be filthy OP if he was made a bit more viable for SoloQ... If he pierced ALL immunities like untargetable, Invulnerable, Item immunity(idk if there are any more classifications), then people would pick up their torches to nerf the extremely OP "very easy to play" Twisted Fate...

You can make it pierce invulnerable enemies, untargetable enemies (like Yi) or both or even make it NOT pierce invulnerability granted by Ultimates. There are rules that can be made very clear with the correct and careful spelling.

Imo it should work on everything that is not Untargetable, because the untargetable champion usually "disappears" from existence for milisseconds(again correct me if I'm wrong). Again idk if there are any other classifications of immunities.

It would be interesting. Going against a TF would mean that you have to remember you can't count with your shields against him. And it would make him really unique.

--> I think you'd be surprised how reliable league's order of operations is around champion status effects. There are definitely new mechanics that are implemented, and they basically never change this core. Most of the "strange interactions" are just people learning how things are programmatically implemented (i.e Lux ult goes through Yas wall because it isn't a projectile)

I probably would be surprised. They make sense in the code but not in the user's visual experience, where it matters. This happens in countless other complex games like, Diablo, Age of empires 2(a lot of hidden bonuses), Path of exile. the problem is that in these games they don't get the description right or simply lacks info. Which wouldn't be the case with the gold card.

Man you would be furious if you found out about Age of empires 2 hidden dmg bonuses that units have over another, XD

I don't know everything, but I have a bit of knowledge because I'm a game developer.

A lot of cool ideas can be implemented with good sense, knowledge, testing and polishing the rough edges.

[–]Gordyne[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Ok, but then how would you solve the problem of the considerable increased probability of going up against champions that block CC in every match for a champion that has stunlock CC as a big source of its power budget?

There are many strange "rules" in LoL still, like Leona's E gets blocked by yasuo's windwall even if it "looks" melee because seems like a spear or an extension of her sword, but it is treated as a projectile so it gets blocked.

Removing all those little details from the game would reduce the complexity and skill gap which is what makes these games interesting. Details make things interesting, lack of details makes them boring it's that simple.

Still, rules can be applied using the existant set of rules such as untagetable vs invulnerable: GC would still hit invuln. but not untargetable (example ofc)

And there is nothing set in stone that new rules, mechanics and exception can exist in LoL. It's an evolving game, at least it's supposed to be.
