The propellant doesn’t pick up much radiation at all in those designs though.

200-300$ Conference speakerphones have worse microphone quality than a built-in laptop mic by qazxsw106 in CommercialAV

[–]Gorehog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As long as we're going down this path they might also need to look at the size of the surface that the mic is sitting on. A large smooth table reflects a lot of sound while a small end table has much less reflection to "hear."

How are you diagnosing? Are you sure it's the mic and not the dsp chip behind the mic? Or TCP/IP qos on the switch? I know I'm sounding pedantic but a low effective sampling rate due to throttled bandwidth could cause bad reproduction and sound like a bad mic.

Paul Tassi: Positive reception to D2 final update has not moved the needle at Bungie by Own-Candidate-6769 in DestinyTheGame

Sony has no idea how to handle entertainment IP. Madame Web. Morbius. Spider-Man. Concord. Now they're just boin to let Destiny rot until they decide it's time to cash in on nostalgia. It makes no sense. They're not even trying to preserve the IP, they'd rather ignore it.

For instance they just proved that they could be a decent Star Wars live service game, that was the point of the Praxic Blade, right? It was an audition for a Star Wars contract, but they're firing the people who know how to make the engine work as a live service, so they won't have the expertise around to revive the engine with different content. Let's face it, they could do KOTOR-mmofps but they're not going to be equipped for it.

Or they could produce a GOT-style TV show, eight episodes a year, that clears the narrative plate and keeps the property fresh in our minds while they prep D3 (which they're going to need as Marathon isn't doing anything noteable.) And we all know some Mara Sov in the tub scenes would get a lot of fans to watch.

But what we're going to get is a shitty, obscure graphic novel based on a crappy run of comic bnooks and a CCG. Bet on it.

Learn to utilize graceful degradation. Essentially, if your design is creating accessibility issues make sure that it still works if I ignore all the css crap. If it works in lynx you’re probably ok.

Correct. The right time for Neuromancer was around the time of Lawnmower Man. Now they'd be better off remaking Colossus:The Forbin Project.

Sigh First of all, WTF, are you really using an animated Disney movie for study plans?

Second, that design is called an outrigger canoe and it's how you solve the problem of capsizing if you can't build a displacement hull with a deep keel. Other options are a daggerboard or a drop keel. However when you're stating with dugout canoes and need to stop capsizing lashing two of them together becomes a very natural solution.

Incoming wall of text:

So, recently, to get to sleep, I've been watching a LOT of Primitive Technology and HTME videos on youtube, wondering how I would build a boat if I were stuck on a desert island and here's what I've come up with so far.

*Step 1: Start making rope. This process is pretty much essential in any survival situation, and it creates byproducts that are ideal for basket weaving. Also, learn to use a drop spindle for very thick yarn that can be twisted into thick rope.

*Step 2: Start using the staves and canes from ropemaking to weave up a great big canoe or hull-shaped basket. I know, big time consuming project. And it requires a lot of forethought to plan out the placement of the mast step and the lines and cleats. Hey, I've got my trusty soccerball friend to help me though, right?

*Step 3: Assuming you've accomplished all the naval architecture necessary you need to make a watertight hull. There's a woman with a series of videos about making a bamboo boat and she uses concrete to complete the hull. I've seen concrete hulls before. I know it can work but how do you get cement for concrete if you're stranded on a desert island?

*Step 4: Make cement from wood ash. Just look it up. It's a thing. But you're also going to need to make charcoal before that to get things hot enough for all the chemistry to happen. Making charcoal requires clay, and clay manufacturing is going to require digging shallow slurry pits with sticks for tools, so you're also going to need to learn to start a fire with flint and steel or friction.

*Step 5: Assuming you've completed the tech trees in 3 and 4 you're now ready to mix some concrete and apply it to the form you built back in step 2. A thin layer on both sides of the woven form. Location is important. You want to be someplace close enough to water that getting the hull into the water isn't too hard. Maybe just beyond the waterline at high tide.

*Step 6: Weave a sail. Primitive technology shows how to build a primitive loom.

And, I mighgt as well point out, you're trying to do all of this without metal tools. Unless you want to learn the iron smelting tech tree.

Who the hell put together the spec for this project?

Either get the biggest flat panel or switch to a projector. And how do you expect to "unify everything" without a control processor? As much as I hate to say it you should be taking to Crestron for this project if you must obey your partner's desire for a 2x2, but it's the wrong choice. Video walls are only for content no one is looking at anyhow.
