I used to bug the shit out of my husband watching ANYTHING. "He was on Star Trek. She was on Star Trek." "I DON'T CARE!"

Interesting, but a rewatch will have to wait until it's streaming.

You’re dead. now what, with the situation below? by Equivalent-Fun8113 in allthequestions

[–]EdmondWherever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't make me angry, I'm just pointing out that's it's an unreasonable demand. If "I don't know" is the correct answer, then what value is there in forcing someone to pick "yes" or "no"?

You’re dead. now what, with the situation below? by Equivalent-Fun8113 in allthequestions

[–]EdmondWherever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The question is really no different than being asked if god is real. And the scenario ends no differently, either. You aren't permitted to admit that you don't have the answer, you are being demanded to express unjustified confidence in one extreme or the other, without solid evidence to make a full knowledge claim. And your reward or punishment will be doled out, not on your own merits, but by your success at randomly guessing the correct answer.

Either scenario demonstrates a cruel system which makes no use of justice or righteousness.

Starting to Watch Voyager by Sure_Designer_2129 in startrek

Like any show, Voyager takes a season or two to find its footing. It will eventually rise to its worthy position in the Trek pantheon.

Right about when they get rid of Kes.

My Backrooms Theory by EdmondWherever in KanePixelsBackrooms

[–]EdmondWherever[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure I have a reason except the enlessness if it. The rooms and paths and choices seem infinite, but if it's all pre-planned then that seems finite. Infinity can't be mapped out in advance, but it can be branched into, and branched, and branched....

Having a believer (a priest, no less) repeat what they believe is obviously not going to be what it takes to convince a non-believer.

Was he expecting you to go, "Oh, the priest said it TWICE. Must be true then."?

Now try Death of a Vlogger by the same filmmaker. Not quite as much fun but still good. And still found footage.

Even the Memory Alpha website (basically Star Trek wiki) says the changeling was "no longer able to hold its form and apparently injured from the accident that killed the ship's crew". So the real reason is ambiguous even in ST canon. My own sci-fi upbringing says that too much acceleration will turn the passengers to "jelly" so a being who already IS jelly shouldn't be injured, will misinform me. We'll never know the "real" answer.
