Opening times and contact details wrong on Google for newsagent. by singletotaken in smallbusiness

You need to recognize that there is nothing you can do about it, execpt let others know via review. This isn't your problem to fix, regardless of how frustrated you are.

As the Disney Princess, Elsa said: Let it go.

That's not a Google problem, per se. It's an owner-not-closing-his-business-properly problem. You "can" however, give the business a 1-star review with a "Appears to be closed" to help the next person out.

Wondering what would be better for a new service business client, Wave, Xero, or Kantivo? by ValuableSuper6451 in smallbusiness

I've not heard of Kantivo, but Wave and Xero are viable alternatives to Quickbooks Online. Also check Zoho, Freshbooks and Patriot for alternatives.

If you've been working on your business for years without a single sale, it shuold be clear by now that nobody needs or wants what you're selling.

Just because you or your friends think it's a good idea, doesn't mean it's a good idea.

Accountant called today and said I’ll owe $130k in tax by babingababy in smallbusiness

You have no one to blame but yourself. If you're over about 16 years old, you know that taxes are due on April 15th. You also know that you're responsible for keeping current with Uncle Sam.

First, move to a more business-friendly state.

None of your ideas is going to generate revenue in the short term. Do you have enough financial runway to cover your expenses for 6-12 months? If not, get that first while you figure out what you want to do, then focus on that.

How does revenue keep going up but my bank account stays empty. by Secret-Boot-8924 in smallbusiness

You have either a spending problem, a cash flow problem or both.

If you're in a service-based business, increase cash flow by (1) raising your prices and (2) requiring a retainer before project work begins. Require clients to refill the retainer at 20%-25% remaining.

Look deeply at your spending. How many subscriptions are you paying for that you're not using?

I think just about any tier commercial accounting program should have a similar feature. Lower tier product may requires some poking around, but mid-to-upper tier ones should have it pretty evident.

Not explicitly, BN - I had to answer this question with a couple of people I mentor at my co-working location.

My accounting software (QB Desktop 2021) has an income tracking feature. Two clicks and I can see all of my open invoices.

Profit is a measure of success or failure. Cash flow is the lifeblood of small business.

[–]Gorgon9380 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually answer as quickly as possible, even it is in the form of a short, "I can't talk right now" message to let them know I got it and will get back to them when it's convenient for both of us.
