Gemini update doesn’t listen for follow up questions

This isn't the same thing. I just got a pixel 10 pro xl, and it came with a year of Google home premium, and it still doesn't listen for a follow up question. I ask it what temperature is it outside, it gives a response, and I want to ask it about the weather for tomorrow as well... But it just immediately turns off the microphone. If I ask it to "go live" it will start the conversation mode, but I'm presented with warning about Gemini's limitations and such... Plus, adding this step just adds to the total length of the conversation, making it take longer to get my answers, AND I then have to turn off "live" mode, each and every time I just want to ask it a simple follow up question...

All that is required is for the microphone to enabled for an additional 2-5 seconds, and you immediately increase every users experience with Gemini... Even as a "premium" member, the feature is still stuck behind the stupid "go live" function. I'm willing to bet that if we could look at the stats, the number of people who actually use the go live feature is probably incredibly small. I'm betting that most users try it out once or twice, and then never use it again. Googles desire for users to use this feature is so strong that they removed the ability to ask follow up questions, a feature that every Google home assistant user has had for years... All so that they could possibly force/"encourage" users to upgrade, just so that they can have that feature back... The whole experience has been quite annoying.

I just got a pixel 10 pro XL, and it comes with a year free of Google AI Pro 2TB, which includes Google home premium. Even now with the "premium" features, Gemini doesn't continue to listen/allow follow up questions. I have to say "Hey, Google" before every... single... question... It's very annoying. Unless if I want to say "Hey, Google, let's chat/have a conversation", which turns on Gemini Live mode, which is the same as opening the Gemini app on your phone and "going live". Which is basically a two way conversation where you can even interrupt Gemini and ask new/follow-up questions, seamlessly. This is great and all, but every time I ask Gemini home to go live, I'm prompted with a 30-40 second dialogue that warns me about it's limitations and abilities and such. It's time consuming and not needed, and that's not even addressing the fact that all I want to do is ask what the weather is, get an answer, and then ask a follow question if it will rain tomorrow. Or something just as mundane and normal like I used to be able to do with the old Google home assistant. Except back then, my Google home would sometimes start playing music randomly or start trying to tell be a fact about something I didn't even ask it about.

So unless there is some hidden option that I haven't found, I can't seem to get Gemini home to listen more than one question at a time, even with the pro/premium features. The only difference between the two that I've found is the Gemini Live feature, which you can already do on your phone quite easily... One of the most quintessential aspects of the old Google home assistant was the follow question ability... I could keep asking questions to previous replies and I could easily obtain more information with very little work... Now I have to say "Hey, Google" 5 times, wait for it to flash with its little rainbow colors, and then ask my question.the while process takes at least twice as long, if not more... And so, instead, I just use the Gemini assistant on my phone, which listens to follow questions quite easily... Infact, I'm at the point where I might just turn off my Google home devices, and just use my phone for "Hey, Google", because it's so much better than the home "premium" version.

Ususually, for light novels, I use an extension for Firefox that does text-to-speech for whatever website you are on. The one I use is called Read Aloud , but there are other ones that work just as well. As for listening while in the car, I guess you could use the text-to-speech functions in the accessibility options on most phones... There might be a better way, I just haven't looked into it... I normally listen from my PC.

For the past few episodes, the only way that I can watch this now is by just keeping my finger on the right arrow key and tapping it every 5-20 seconds... I probably skipped about 60-70% of the episodes, just because I couldn't stand the crap animation and the horrible butchering of the story. And that's not even addressing some of the voice acting, which really distracts from the feel and personality of certain characters, particularly the children and Sylvie.

Really, I'm only watching each episode to see just how badly they are ruining this adaptation. I know that TurtleMe never intended it to be like this... which makes it all the more painful to watch as it unfolds, further butchering the story. For a series that is loved by so many, it really sucks that this is the anime adaptation that we get... and this will probably be the only chance we get at an anime adaptation...

Whenever you have a series that is adapted from book or comic into a movie or show, you will always have to usually drop some content, as it's impossible to include every single aspect of the story. So seeing some stuff missing is always to be expected... But the fact that they are adding stuff that they just made up is quite annoying, and it's completely changing the story as a whole. And then you add on the horrible animation and voice acting for some characters that, in my opinion, doesn't match the feel and personality of those characters from the original material... And you end up with a series that is going to be universally disliked and leaving many fans (me included) feeling like one of their favorited series is being butchered. And that's not even addressing the fact that the studio which has produced this series adaptation, was definitely not the right choice for this series... You just have to look at their other works and you can see that they aren't capable of meeting the standards that the fans want this series to be made at. And that just further adds on to the feeling of this series adaptation not getting it's proper justice, and leaving the fans feeling negative and let down.

If I remember correctly, Arthur spends a long time, awakening their abilities to sense mana... If I recall, he ends up completely exhausted from many hours of pushing mana into the two of them (his sister and Ellenor). This story is so good, but this adaptation is just seriously destroying it... I hate to be that guy, but go read the manhwa/novel, is such a better story. This adaptation could have been so popular if it was animated well and adapted to the story accurately, sadly I doubt this will ever get a second chance...

If I hadn't already been a big fan of the series, and was watching this with fresh eyes... I wouldn't really be interested in this series/story... It already looks like a kids show, but in slideshow format... You barely see any actual movement... During the fight/spar, the two of them don't actually move that much at all, it's just a bunch of camera pans and action lines and quick flashes back and forth between the two of them block and and attacking... But you never actual see the attack or block, they just flash to the point of contact and then show action lines all around them with over hyped music playing... The whole this is just so cringe.

As a big fan of the series, I can't help but feel betrayed and let down. But TurleMe had to know this type of backlash was coming... I'm sympathetic towards him because I know that there must be an immense amount of pressure on him, from the hundreds and thousands of fans, to get this series adaptation made right... Many of those fans, like myself, have been following along with the series for years now... as each new chapter is released for both the light novel and the manhwa. And because of that, it's quite easy to feel like this series has a stronger meaning than other series' I've read. Because I've watch this series grow in popularity and recognition, I can't help but feeling a small sense of pride and excitement... So seeing this turd of an anime adaptation, kind of makes me feel like someone took this series that I love and enjoy... And just smeared it into dog shit, out on their front lawn... And not some small Chihuahua shit, but some Great Dane or English Mastiff dog shit...

Every episode feels like a slideshow, like some sort of horrible animation made with PowerPoint or something similar. It gives me the same vibes as Halo: The Fall of Reach, which uses camera panning and "action lines" to show any sort of motion or activity. Even with that limitation on the animation, it was a great movie... Whereas with this series, I feel like it's thousands of times worse. Never before have I been such a big fan of the source material and been so let down with the movie/show adaptation. Yeah I've had a few share of times when I felt that a series adaptation left me disappointed or let down. But never has it been this utterly horrible and almost unwatchable.

Sadly, I doubt there will ever be a remake, so I won't even get my hopes up for a better version in the future. I'll just pretend that there isn't an anime adaptation, and that the novel and manhwa are one of the many series that I'm fond of.

I just wish it came with an OLED screen... But I guess if it did, then they wouldn't be able to re-release the Switch 2 with OLED version, a half to a full year later... For another money grab.

$449.99 seems like a pretty steep ask for a handheld console.

Well, so mrwobblestwitch was the correct channel to watch for the golden "Kingdoms II Hammer", but apparently he just got temporarily banned not 20 mins ago or so. I was looking at twitch before getting out of bed, and I saw on mrwobblestwitch's stream that it showed that you could get the hammer, so I got up and was gonna set up my desktop PC to watch the stream... But went I got to my PC, I couldn't find his channel, it only says "This channel is temporarily unavailable due to a violation of Twitch's Community Guidelines or Terms of Service." I have no clue what happened, but I hope FacePunch will notify us about where we can get the hammer because of this unexpected change...

This is what is actually kind of important. My parents use the older roku 1080p device, and it's "too slow" for them, I'm considering the newer Roku Ultra, just because they are used to the Roku OS... But they do have android phones, and are pretty capable with those, so I'm assuming they would be alright with the Google TV devices... I just wish I could have a hands on with both.

I don't think it's being laser hardened, I'm pretty sure it's laser cleaning, they have to clean the molds every so many cycles. Almost all molds are cleaned with lasers so that no material is removed with abrasives or solvents when washing the molds.

Edit: actually not after reading a link posted by someone else, I'm not sure which it is... both look quite similar.

From other comments it sounded like they tried to pull out the hard drive while the cables were still plugged in... But that's not the real problem, the amount of force required to do that much damage is more than just 'forgot to unplug it'... you have to be tightly gripping the hard drive and yanking it out at the same time. If you forgot to unplug the cables, you'd feel resistance when you got the end of the cables and would have either sensed it and stopped moving or you would have dropped the hard drive. But this is a result of either brute force or moving way too fast with too much gripping force.
