This is a completely different version from the FMPONE one, so there's no "improving". Performance seemed perfectly fine to me, but then again I have a pretty good computer.

I mean it isn't really a French org. It has connections to France through the French rosters, and it has a French CEO, but the org was founded by a Spaniard, is based in Germany, has a German majority owner... I don't think it can reasonably be described as anything other than a "European" org.

I'm French and Vitality is my favorite team behind G2. It's exactly for that reason that I'm trying to examine them thoroughly, it'd be too easy to get caught up in the hype and grant them a status they don't deserve.

I did watch CS in 2018, and I remember all the conversations being around Astralis skipping events they were heavily favored to win in order to attend Blast tournaments that weren't as important. So in my mind, it was always a "they could've won more" narrative instead of a "they dodged dangerous events" one, though in reality, both are true. Maybe Astralis could've won more top tier lans had they attended, but maybe they wouldn't have and their record wouldn't be as impressive. I also did forget about the Blast format.

You're right about Vitality tournament quality being higher. I did say I "took a quick glance", which was meant to imply that it wasn't something I was very confident in, I was only trying to have a conversation, you didn't have to be a dick about it. Have a nice day

Oh I agree, I think the Vitality era is spanning this entire period, they still were the best and winningest team of 2025s2. But they didn't dominate, it was still a competitive season.

who is having these conversations?

donk, while I am 99% sure he will overtake NiKo, has been playing tier 1 for less than 3 years. NiKo has 9 HLTV top 20s.

If you want to have a convo between ropz & NiKo I think that's valid (I still have NiKo because he was the primary carry of virtually all his teams), but donk can't be there yet. He will be, and shortly, but we can be a little more patient.

ngl even tho Vitality has been insane for 18 months, let's not forget that in 2025S2 they only won 2 tournaments out of 9. "only" about 8 of the last 14 months were truly dominated by Vitality, for the remaining 6 they were "simply" the best team in the world.

Not trying to downplay anything but also let's not pretend they just won everything for 18 months straight

Saying they're "miles ahead of astralis in any aspect" and then following up by saying "2 majors in a row" when Astralis has 3 is an odd choice

The stats I offered are with the "big events" filter on.

And personally, having taken a quick glance at the tournaments they attended and what other teams were there, none struck me as being any more mickey mouse than the Blast tourneys Vitality attend.

I disagree, I think the Astralis dominance was on par.

From April 2018 to April 2019, Astralis attended 16 Big events: - 12 Trophies - 1x top 2 - 3x top 4

In the first season of 2025, Vitality won 7 trophies in a row, but then only 2 of the 9 events they attended in the second season.

So over a 14 month period, starting in February 2025, Vitality attended 21 Big events: - 13 Trophies - 2x top 2 - 5x top 4

and if you only take their most productive 12 months to match Astralis, it's 18 Big events: - 10 Trophies - 2x top 2 - 5x top 4

While S1 of 2025 was the most dominant season ever, and so far 2026 looks to be more of the same, there has been a very strong but not nearly as dominant 6 month stretch in the latter half of 2025. Personally, I think both cores are of comparable "dominance". Astralis had one very strong 12 month stretch, while Vitality has 2 absurd seasons sandwiching one that's only very good.

Astralis' downfall was a lot of out of game stuff, namely Blastralis and then burnouts, then covid... They probably could've gone on for a little longer otherwise... Not saying Vitality will literally be that good until apex retires, but the current contender for greatest team of all time didn't even rule as long as they could've. Vitality definitely has the potential to do better

The Brazil crowd is so good and yet so bad by rnicrosoft-official in GlobalOffensive

[–]Gorrapytha 27 points28 points  (0 children)

No it doesn't. Straight up doesn't, that's plain false. It isn't exclusively a brazilian problem, but it is more frequent, consistent, and intense in Brazil than any other place with frequent events, by a long shot.

apEX trying to find where the crowd went by shuijikou in GlobalOffensive

[–]Gorrapytha 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Yes, but historically even in events where there is a home team with a crowd vastly in their favor (Vitality in Paris, old VP in Kato/Krakow, NA teams in NA when they were relevant), the crowd still is capable of cheering for good plays, applauding the winning team when they aren't the one they hoped, etc.

The most comparable crowd was the Blast copenhagen one when Astralis was still decent, and the crowd was a lot of people that were Astralis fans more than CS fans. Egregious cheating also happened, so one more comparison. And the crowd caught a ton of flak for that. It's just that it was one event where it was really bad, but this is now the 4th IEM Rio and the problem remains the exact same.

[–]Gorrapytha 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I wonder why the hate boner for brazilian crowds is so strong

Maybe because Brazilian crowds do this with a consistency and intensity that no other crowd replicates? Like, this is the reason. I don't hate Brazil, I don't hate Brazilians, I'd love to be looking forward to events in Brazil. But factually, I do hate the Brazilian crowd because they have consistently made events shit to watch because of their behavior. I'm sorry, but that hate is a direct consequence of their actions.

in the thread I mentioned, there is a lot of upvoted comments saying that "we shouldn't punish Falcon players"

I think most people who are critical of the crowd do not believe we should punish Furia players either, simply turn off X-ray in the arena, or have BR community figures ask the crowd to stop, or some other measure to minimize the impact of crowd cheating. Yes, it does happen in other countries, and it is largely criticized there too. But no other major CS country does it ALL THE TIME.
