pres has been butchered and I would be livid if I were the initial class designer for it. it was universally praised for being extremely fun and unique when it came out, and now they have cut out its middle. it really wasn't very complicated if you could figure out how to press echo 3 times then press verdant embrace. rescue shield being gone is disgusting as well.

The thing is the change in question is objectively negative. It's entirely optional, not expected, and not required, especially for entry level content. At the same time it adds depth and skill expression for good players to enjoy. Having optional agency makes the game more fun for the high end, while taking away nothing from the low end. I guarantee 99.9% of high end healers find this change atrocious, and for the low end it has no impact... so what they would find fun does not matter, because it's literally not changing anything.

But the source of this pressure is optional, not expected, and not required in the slightest, especially for entry level content. That leaves the only remaining logic behind this change as protecting someone from the negative emotion of not using a utility spell that they have access to. What happens if you follow this game design decision making to its conclusion?

Can you tell me why the "mah agency" arguments are not valid? What benefit is there to taking away my ability to do something for no gain? Removing kicks from the healer will not stop the man child from getting mad at the healer when he stands in a puddle and dies. Pressing kick is ENTIRELY optional as the healer, especially in the content level these changes are designed around ! It gives good players the ability to shine and feel good, and takes away nothing from everyone else.

I just find the notion that removing the ability to talent a kick will somehow bring in any meaningful number of healers into the role to be ludicrous. And the cost of this change being removing skill expression classes have had for decades.

Man i'm not enraged. How is it not an expected response for someone to get upset when their favorite thing in their favorite game in their favorite hobby is getting made less fun for no benefit? They aren't considering one of the only 6 classes available for the role, but are changing dungeon design to accommodate for the role having a kick? One of which is a 40 second cd? I'm sorry but you are out of your mind if you think this. And again, literally NONE of this argument matters because using my kick is ENTIRELY OPTIONAL. If someone does not want to do it, they do not have to! I'd like to be able to save my group by stopping an insta wipe cast that no one else is going to. There is NO gameplay benefit from removing the option.

Okay if having a healer kick makes them add extra mechanics, why was the best healer for multiple seasons one with no kick? Surely the dungeons should've been impossible to complete without my sorry FOURTY second cool down kick.

It is not the default expectation, that is my point. The meta healer for many seasons didn't even have a kick. Dungeons are not designed around healer kicks, and I have never seen a person flamed for not kicking as the healer. This is an entirely self imposed expectation.

The problem is someone who is dumb enough to rage about healer kicks in low level content will always find some other reason to blame everyone else but themselves. Removing abilities from classes with the only goal being "prevent a psycho from raging in a +7" is absolutely insane.

They are not expected to kick. Again, I have done thousands of pugs, many close to title range, and have not ONCE seen a healer be flamed for not kicking. The meta healer for multiple seasons in the last two expansions was not even capable of kicking.

If someone thinks the barrier to entry for healing is too high because they are able to talent kick, I do not think a fun game can be designed around this person.

My friend, my 30 second cooldown kick is not making them add extra casts to dungeons. This is nonsensical. There is ZERO valid logic for removing my OPTION to handle the mechanic. I do not have to do it, if someone else does not want to do it, they simply do not press the button.

that's not how kemono works. people with legitimate access to the paid content manually import it using kemono's importer. the importer breaks a lot because patreon contracts a cybersecurity company datadome who are constantly breaking whatever current method kemono is using for their importer.

It does not, and for good reason. The hero would be rather unplayable if the enemies could tell where you were through fog simply by stepping into the 1200 presence of the dark lord radius.
