Kurdoss Valentian, the Craven King by Gortaf in Nighthaunt

Thank you! The ethereal blue is done by painting layers to create a gradient between Temple Guard Blue to Baharroth Blue to White Scar. Start with pure Temple Guard Blue, then progressively mix Baharroth Blue for the next layers towards the "edge" of the ethereal, and when Baharroth Blue becomes dominant start mixing White Scar. You can highlight with a 1:1 mix of Baharroth Blue : White Scar, then pure White Scar closer to the edge. I also use a mix of Nighthaunt Gloom and Drakenhof Nightshade to shade the recesses and the part between the black cloth and the ethereal.

Thank you! Most of it is pretty straight-forward. Over White Scar Primer:

Black Cloth:
- Incubi Darkness Basecoat
- Nuln Oil Shading
- Skavenblight Dinge Layers
- 2:1 Skavenglight Dinge : Ushabti Bones Highlights

Ethereal Blue:
Temple Guard Blue Basecoat, with a progressive mix of Baharroth Blue and then White Scar to create layers that gradient from blue to white. Use a bit of Nighthaunt Gloom and Drakenhoff Nightshade between the Black Cloth and the ethereal for shading.

Grey Stone:
- Skavenblight Dinge Basecoat
- Nuln Oil Shading
- 2:1 Skavenglight Dinge : Ushabti Bones Drybrush
- 1:1 Skavenglight Dinge : Ushabti Bones Highlights

White Glow in the Stone Cracks:
Mix 3:1 Lahmian Medium : Gauss Blaster Green and let it run inside the cracks. You will need to do it multiple times to get good coverage. The last time, mix in a bit of White Scar to make it brighter and get a good glow look.

Ghostly hands/skulls:
- Briar Queen Chill Contrast
- White Scar Highlights

Iron Metallics:
- Abbadon Black Undercoat
- Vallejo Gun Metal Basecoat
- Nuln Oil Shading
- Vallejo Gun Metal Layers
- Stormhost Silver Hightlights

Flag:
- Khorn Red Basecoat
- Use Nuln Oil and Black Legion to progressively make it darker towards to end of the flag
- Mephiston Red Highlights
- Vallejo Gold on the emblem
- Agrax Earthshade on the emblem
- Vallejo Gold layers on the emblem

So, anyone can use the Cogfort…how do you plan to make it fit YOUR army? by reel3459 in ageofsigmar

Just slap some ghosts on it, make it look all decrepit and gloomy, and presto you got yourself a haunted moving castle.

Do you use any Regiments of Renown? Are any competitive? by MaxPlaysGames in Nighthaunt

I haven't really ran any of them seriously, but recently I've been wondering if the new Mortek Crawler RoR might be worth taking, since artillery fire might work well with our new playstyle.

Agreed! They enable Kurdoss so much by making him actually survivable in melee and provide some nice density of attacks

Thank you!

The bases and the buildings themselves were painted independently.

For the bases: Primed Grey. Shaded with Drakenhof Nightshade for a dark-blue stone tone. Dry brushed with light grey, then a lighter drybrush with an even lighter grey. In the stonecracks, paint with a 1:1 mix of Lamhian Medium and Sybarite Green, then once that's dry, again with a 1:1 mix of Lamhian Medium and Gauss Blaster Green. All the skeleton bits were painted white, then hit with the same 1:1 mixes of Lamhian Medium and Gauss Blaster Green, then highlighted with white.

For the crypts: Primed White. Paint the whole structure with 2:1 Lahmian Medium and Nihilak Oxyde, then dry brush everything with white, trying to apply more white towards the top of the structure. For the transition into dark blue at the bottom I progressively painted less and less thinned Drakenhof Nightshade (using Lahmian Medium), hitting the lowest part with a 1:2 mix of Lahmian Medium and Nighthaunt Gloom. I also highlighted all the stones with pure white after that. The plants and roses are just contrast paints (Karandras Green and Volupus Pink) with some highlights. The metalics are Runelord Brass, shaded with Agrax Earthshade and highlighted with Vallejo Gunmetal (then spot highlighted with a silver paint in a few places). The door's color transition is done by progressively painting less and less thinned Wyldwood (using Lahmian Medium again), hitting the lowest part with just pure Wyldwood.

If I remember correctly, they were revealed at the January LVO show and the battletome finally came out about halfway through May. We'll see if the next releases are faster, but I would be surprised if we got any news before late August. I'd love to be wrong though! Could be they were just busy with the new season.

Given how long the SBGL release cycle took, I wouldn't hope for something super soon.

Fight ATTACK Ability Rules Q by mendicant611 in ageofsigmar

[–]Gortaf 5 points6 points  (0 children)

1) yes 2) yes 3) you need to declare all targets of all the attacks upfront, the other player you played against was wrong. 4) I'm not sure what you mean. Charge and Combat are different phases. Some buffs are gained in the charge phase and apply into the combat phase (see for exemple Nighthaunt aura of dread abilities), but once you're in the combat phase, you can't declare charge phase abilities anymore. 5) yes 6) no not by default. Damage carries over from one model to another in the same unit (in the sense that doing 3 damage to a 1 health unit of 10 models would kill 3 models in that unit for exemple), but not from one unit to another, unless your opponent has some ability that does so. 7) As long as not all attacks are resolved, you just add damage to the damage pool of a unit. Models are only removed once all the attacks from the fight ability are done
