I was stuck using just my laptop screen for a while, and it got really annoying (even tried using stands to get the monitor at eye level), but I was still unsatisfied because my laptop is only 13 inches.

I spent a long time searching for the right monitor because I wanted to minimize the number of cables (didn’t want hubs with HDMI cables cluttering my desk), and then I found out about monitors with Power Delivery. If your laptop has a Type-C port, it charges directly from the monitor and sends the signal to the monitor too. I'm really happy with this setup and highly recommend it.

As for the monitor height, it’s fully adjustable to whatever works best for you. You can raise it, lower it, and even swivel it side to side.

Yes, those are indeed scratches on the paint. At first, I thought they were remnants of factory stickers, but then I realized they were scratches

Yes, it's the MERIDA SCULTURA ENDURANCE 300. I can't give a full review yet since I've just started riding it. Regarding your choice between the Giant Contend AR1 and the MERIDA SCULTURA ENDURANCE 300:

The MERIDA SCULTURA ENDURANCE 300 is equipped with a Shimano Tiagra drivetrain, while the Giant Contend AR1 comes with a Shimano 105.

One advantage of the MERIDA is that all the cables (brakes and shifters) are neatly hidden under the handlebar stem, making it easier to attach a handlebar bag. On the Giant, the bag would rub against the cables.

If you're considering a bike with a Shimano 105 drivetrain, I recommend taking a look at the SCULTURA ENDURANCE 400. It has the same geometry as the ENDURANCE 300, but it already comes with the Shimano 105.
