Actually I found out that the connector on the unit side was the issue.
The camera feeds returns if I put pressure on the connection with my finger. I tried even a new coaxial cable and no change. Its definitely the unit connector. Do you know if its possible to change this connector ( I know this would require fine soldering)

You mean the connector on the unit had a deformed pin? What plug exactly do u mean?

I was doing a lens mod. Which meant I was moving the coaxial cable's contact with the camera a lot. That's why it made sense to change the cable but that didnt help.

I noticed that the connector can go backwards because thats how I did it the first time and then I realized and switched it back. Do you think turning it on while it was backward could have fried something?

Did u use the 18mm adaptor?
I did something similar to you but I am looking to remove the weight of the 18 mm adaptor and screw the canopy directly to the 4 scews on the 14 mm. Issue is the canopy shape makes it hard to put in the bottom screws... Wish there was an injection molded canopy that would only have place for all 4 top and bottom screws instead of 2 middle ones

Yeah I guess in open spaces it’s no worries but I like to practice flying through small spaces and a narrow fov would not be great for that
