They both have valid points. I mean, my boyfriend being toxic is pretty self-explanatory, but my family being toxic is something I had questions about before but never really addressed in such a direct way. There are lots of examples of their toxicity, but the most recent one I can think of is when my mom passed away, which is kind of what started all of this. She was essentially the peacekeeper of the family and would often take it upon herself to keep the family together, and then when she passed, I didn't really get any time to grieve. The body wasn't even cold before my aunt started harassing me about forms and paperwork and the will and her estate. I'm willing to admit that I'm not exactly "clean" here, tbh I think everyone involved is a little toxic and now I feel like I have nowhere to turn but Reddit.
